Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Today's Question: No question today.

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

Great work although urgh! Having to shift all those logs, that's not good. Sending you good wishes for recovery - shame the mice couldn't have helped really - there's enough of them to have made light work of it if they could have been co-opted into it.

I was thinking Team work rather than shifting a log each! I'm not that cruel!

Today I have sewed together some panels for my throw - I finished one yesterday and started another one - and I just realised that I sewed them together in the wrong rotation (they alternate between being horizontal and vertical) and I can't face unpicking them again.

I think so, they're all the right side up which to me is the important part. (It wouldn't matter if they were the first ones that I'd stitched together, I'd just do them all "wrong" but I have stitched some others together already. However as there's 20 panels, I rather doubt that this will be the only time I do it wrong so *shrugs* we shall see. Once I have them all made I'll see how it looks and if it bugs me I'll fix them, if it doesn't I won't.)

That sounds like a good approach - if you decide it really bugs you then unpicking won't be quite as annoying.

Shame that happened but I think your wait and see if it will matter is wise.

A little bit of time spent on the jigsaw but now I'm going to rest and try to get some sleep.

I've taken on extra duties in Nerdopolis - I'm now not only captain of Team Co-op but also leading the rogues (folks who don't play on a team). Today I made a new icon for Ravelry to reflect my updated status. I am not a graphic designer so it took a bit of figuring out (I used GIMP) but I managed to get something acceptable to me. I introduced myself to the rogues, and assured my team that I'm not going anywhere.

I'm six rows into the blanket for my niece, and five rounds into my new Christmas stocking (I had to start over as I accidentally cast on one less stitch than needed and didn't catch it until about round 8).

Someone in the blanket K/CAL posted theirs which is made up of knitted images inspired by books, which made me remember the Final Fantasy blanket I was working on a few years back. So today I dug out the half finished square, looked for my chart and re-downloaded it again when I couldn't find the print out, and knit one row. It's a small square, only about six inches wide, but it's double knitted with more than two colors so it goes quite slow. Of course, using extra colors means a thick, warm square, but that sounds good to me because my legs get cold when I sit at my desk to play video games.

Squares for the Final Fantasy blanket completed so far are: black mage, white mage, thief, red mage, chocobo, and moogle. Current square is monk, and I've got knight charted to knit next. After that I'll probably do a tonberry. If you want to see the squares, some of them are posted to my Ao3 account at [archiveofourown.org profile] xnera.

I am...still here!

I managed to crochet two hats for my mother (knitting them was just not going well >.<) and I have started on a baby afghan for a friend who is having a girl soon.

Two crocheted hats is excellent. Have fun with the baby afghan!
