Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

The meeces today have been much more cooperative, probably because I knitted and sewed them up early while it was still daylight and I could see what I was doing. There were no problems at all with the sewing up. All I had to do this evening was stuff them, sew the ears on and stitch the faces. Three of the meeces have pink noses because black doesn't show up very well against navy blue. Their eyes are also a bit further forward to avoid them being on the navy blue stripes. I tried experimenting yesterday with different coloured eyes, but they didn't look right.

Tomorrow I'll hopefully do the last 5 with the navy blue yarn. Then I can get back to lighter colours.

I finished square 13 of my throw, and have found patterns for another 8 squares, which will bring the total to 24.

No crafting as such done in the last couple of days too busy! yesterday I batch cooked chicken, chorizo and bacon sauce to serve with pasta. Today I made 2 banana and apple breads using the friendship starter and also got the breadmaker out to make some cranberry and cinnamon bread (I love this but would eat seriously way too much bread if I had the breadmaker to hand all the time!).

I'm pleased with the fact that I finished some outstanding projects that have been around for a while (tapestry and cross-stitch), but I think that the thing that I'm most pleased with is that I've rediscovered my love of crafting and have been carving out some time to do it - it's doing wonders for my state of mind and being able to relax. There were other small things that I was pleased with - making so many Christmas gifts, starting to learn tunisian crochet, feeling that I know enough to begin to adapt patterns I'm familiar with to create what I need - nothing huge but I see it as the start of a process - can't jump in with complex things until I'm confident to do smaller things. All of these were added bonuses to the major one of relaxation and time to do something I like.

You've done so well this year with finishing projects, really impressive ones too.

Crafting definitely has benefits for relaxation and mental health. I'm glad you're enjoying it and managing to make time for it. I know I've felt happier since I started this community and met so many fellow crafters! Sounds like you've learned a lot and gained confidence in your abilities. 😄

I have to say that I really do appreciate the positivity and chat in this community - it has been a big help in getting to the point where I am sticking with my projects - I don't know any/many RL crafters who are happy to talk about what they have/haven't been doing and it tends not to be something that's celebrated. Unfortunately, most people of my acquaintance think it odd to spend evenings crafting (or parts of evenings) - I do have a couple of friends who appreciate some of the results of my endeavours which is good though. So what I'm saying is it's nice to find likeminded people and to see what people are working on and share progress and results even when we're all doing different types of projects.

Here's to lots more completed projects in 2022!
