Hello to all members, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Today's Question: No question today.

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

I got my booster shot today. That about took care of the rest of the day. Tomorrow, though, I'm going to buy some more baking ingredients. The GCBF must go on!

Great news about the booster. Good luck with the shopping for the next stage of your preparation for baking.

Hope you get some rest to recover from your headache. Well done on starting more stripey meece.

Stripey looks more fun but much more fiddly to create I would imagine.

Here’s a picture of the first Tunisian crochet scarf.

Starting on the second now.

What a lovely scarf! You must be pleased with it.

I’m pleased with how it looks given it’s my first attempt at Tunisian crochet but also a bit concerned that it’s too short. It’s difficult to tell. I’m going to contact a friend tomorrow and ask if her youngest has a scarf she could send me the dimensions of. I think I might make the second one a little longer as the second child is a little older (about 18 months I think).

It’s started well, the colours are working well together.

The last few days in the life of [personal profile] althea_valara:

Saturday: NO WORK on the blanket. I just didn't have time. We had to go clean out a family member's condo and that took a good chunk of the day, so I didn't have time/oomph to sit and work on the blanket. Boo.

Sunday: Six rows on the blanket.

Sometime Saturday or Sunday: I started a quilled paper project for The Lab in Nerdopolis, and poked a bit at the crocheted mitts.

Monday: BLANKET DISASTER! I discovered the issue at 1:35pm. It took me until 6:15pm to fix the problem, ugh. I did take breaks (including an hour-long one to slaughter monsters in my MMO; I needed an outlet for my frustrations) but it was very annoying. I cancelled my stream Monday night, which saddened me, but I think it was the right move because I managed to knit 3 rows after dinner.

Today: Six rows on the body of the blanket, at which point I messaged a friend on Discord:

okay, i finished the current 12-row repeat of the blanket. Measured, it''s just about 56" (it's also about 56" in width, thing is WIDE). I can do another half repeat which would make it symmetrical, or i could just go to endgame and start the border. a half repeat would take about 90 minutes. I am leaning towards just going to the border. The blanket is so large and the pattern so small that it likely won't be noticed that it's not symmetrical. border is only 1.5" wide

Friend said 56" square is plenty big, and I concurred, so I moved on to the ENDGAME!! border. I've knit 5 rows on the border, and it looks like I need just one more row and I can bind off. Which I wanted to do tonight, but I am le tired.

Tomorrow: Finish blanket, weave in ends securely, and give it a run in the washer/dryer (it's 100% acrylic, but I am going to wash it on gentle just in case.)
