Hello to all members, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

An exhausting, frustrating, and annoying day. I've made a start on painting the shed with wood preserver / wood stain, even though it's not complete yet, the roof still has to be put on properly, and the windows put in. Spent all afternoon on it, but only managed to get the back painted, leaving me with three more sides to go, and I'm supposed to give it two coats. According to the weather forecast, I only have three days before the rain returns. I'm not going to make it =/ The wood is so rough it takes a lot of effort to get the stain to cover it completely, working it into the grain, so my arms and hands are really going to ache.

Then I came indoors, hungry, filled a pan with water, and promptly spilled it all over the kitchen floor, down my trousers, and all over my slippers, which are going to take forever to dry since I haven't got the heating on yet so it's pretty cold indoors. Then, I burned my dinner. *sigh*

On the plus side, I've knitted my 12 rows for the day, and now back and front are the same length, with 12 pattern repeats each.

So do I. When things go wrong they just seem to pile up.

At least the part of the shed I've painted looks good. The raw wood is all pale and stark, but I got a rich, deep brown wood stain that looks far better. Of course, the part I've painted can't be seen, it's around the back, but once I do the rest...

Dabbling away here and there - cards, needlework, etc. All just procrastination for the spook_me fic I'm meant to be working in to meet the deadline. Guh.
Haven't done any photos lately of projects I'm working on. Just haven't found the energy for it. Off to sit myself down and work on my fic for a solid half hour to see if I can get going.

Glad you're getting a bit of crafting in.

I feel you on the spook_me thing. I signed up for two, and I've done a bit of work on the first one, but all my time's being taken up with the blasted shed! I've only managed to get two sides painted, the weather is being unhelpful (rain last night and more forecast for tonight), and I'm too exhausted to think. Skipped breakfast this morning and instead spent four and a half hours giving one side of the shed its first coat. Before I can do a second coat I'll need to get another can of stain.

It rained last night, SO not helpful, but today the shed roof is finished, I painted another side, and I'm not going to have enough wood stain for two coats *sigh*

It was, and today hasn't been much better, but at leady now I can relax and watch Strictly Come Dancing! I really need the rest.
