Hello to all members, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Today's Question: No question today.

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

Oh, dear! It doesn't look like an easy day tomorrow! Good luck, let's hope at least the rain will come at a different time.

Good, steady progress with your project.

I've finished the cherry stone pillow just before the visitors descended upon us. The rest of the day was... exhausting. I'll try to take a photo tomorrow.

Well, you know how it is: there are good days and there are bad days. We just have to take the bad ones with the good ones.

Good luck for the morning (probably too late for you to get the message before it happens but at least you'll know afterwards that the good thoughts were with you). I feel like a good luck is needed for the knitting/yarn in the hope that there is enough to get you there.

Well done on finishing the pillow - I shall look forward to seeing the end result. Hope you recover and feel less exhausted soon.

Did some more work on the hat part of the tapestry and then started to unpick some of the bits that I'm going to have to change. I was hoping to be able to unpick and end up with some reusable wool so that I could finish other sections, but it's not panning out that way so there will be more unpicking in my future.

Newcomer here, checking in very late!

I finally learned how to knit the brioche rib. I found a nice pattern for a basic beanie hat specifically designed for beginners to learn and get used to it and it looks great (if not perfect, I've definitely had to go back and fix purl stitches that I accidentally knit and yarn overs that didn't get picked up).

I've been using a leftover yarn for my contrasting color, though, and I'm definitely not going to have enough of it to make it as long as the pattern wants it to be with a pretty wide flipped up brim. I'm just hoping that it's long enough to have some brim.

Hi there! I'm new too :) Brioche is tricky but sooooo satisfying once you get the rhythm down. So squishy!

I stayed up a bit late last night to bind off the Guernsey Scarf! I ended up winning yarn chicken with about 3 yards left. It needs blocking, but I'll try to remember to post a photo once that's done.

Now I must ponder over what's next....hmm....

Are you able to relax and chill while you wait? That's always the frustrating bit about the wait for a delivery like that isn't it - finding something you can be doing and can stop easily.

I've planned it out to keep it to a minimum. It's also changing how I'm working going forward - making sure that I've done the whole of one area of a colour before I tackle another of the same colour, in the preemptive hope of avoiding same again with another shade - it's not always easy to do this as not all of a colour is visible at a time as I roll the frame but I'll get there. I'm very wary at the moment as I know the final part is a large band of one colour at the top of the picture, but hopefully when I get there I'll be able to see if I've got enough of the needed wool and if not go and get more/an alternative before progressing (there are already a couple of inches done but it's better to unpick now than get to an inch or two of the end and find out then I don't have enough as there'll be no option to change to a different shade there)

I've never heard of Brioche rib - I'll be interested to see the finished result when you reach that point.

Well done on getting to the final stages. I look forward to seeing the end results. Exciting getting to choose what's next.

Small crisis. Here's a sneak peek at the Love Your Bookshop Day packs to accompany all books sold. The idea is that it is a bit of a giggle- and something completely not what people expect (hence the bag to hide the goodies.) So- onion (to inflame passions), garlic (just rechecked and garlic is NOT one of the things I needed and now I need to remove it and replace it with something else), nasturtium seeds (nasturtiums are good for coitus and sperm production) and beeswax candles. Damn. Now I have to redo the packs and rephotograph everything. In other news, I now have a lifetime supply of garlic. I might just plant the bulbs for the flowers. I've got 3 days and a tight budget and I want something fruity or something. hmmm
