Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Woke up this morning to rain pouring down, and the skip already gone. So glad that's out of the way so I could order the sleepers for under the new shed. With luck, I'll have them delivered next week. It was also a relief being able to get into my garage again. When the rain stopped for a bit I was able to stow a few things in there, and put my bicycle back. I had that out around the back of the house in case I needed to go anywhere while the drive was blocked by the massive skip.

I got the second pattern repeat done on the front of my sweater. My thumb was being very painful at the start but improved by the time I was halfway.

You seem to be steaming along with this sweater - it doesn't feel like it was that long ago you started it.

I've done a bit of stitching and will knit some rows later.

I am very happy it's gone, with all its contents.

I feel more like I'm plodding along slowly. I started it on August 24th, so it's already been almost 5 weeks, slower than the last two since there's so much still to do. It'll probably be another 3 weeks minimum before it's finished

Still plodding along on the tapestry. I’m trying to fill in lots of little gaps so I can wind up a few more inches or at least centimetres 🤔

Very pleased, yes, but they wanted to deliver the shed on Wednesday after saying 3-4 weeks, and I won't have the sleepers for the base until next week, plus there's rain forecast practically every day! They're holding delivery for a later date, but it will probably only be a week or so...

Thanks. It'll survive. Arthritis is a b***h, but keeping it working helps.

Frustrating when the dates don’t fit smoothly together but I have to say quite a pleasant surprise to hear someone wanting to deliver early rather than delaying by weeks on end.

You have my understanding on the arthritis front. It’s irritating when it hinders what you have planned but you’re right to keep it working so long as it isn’t making the pain worse.

Yes and no. The threading and working just a few stitches in a colour can be annoying but seeing them fill in and knowing when they’re done I can move upward is a pleasure. In some respects big blogs of one colour are a bit boring because they grow slowly.

It was very unexpected, thought I'd have plenty of time which is why I ordered before I had the sleepers. Figured it was best to get the ball rolling, but now it's rolling too fast >.< Typical, it's either long delays (another three weeks before tree removal, and November for the garage roof replacement), or ahead of schedule.

I started developing arthritis in my mid-thirties, so I'm sort of used it by now. It's not severe, but my fingers are getting wonky. That's why I'm determined to keep my hands active.

True, when it's just filling in bits it seems to go faster, even if that's only because the big bits are already done.

I have RA in multiple joints so understand what you're saying. It was only diagnosed about 6 months before the pandemic but it's been around quite awhile beforehand. I find after a day at work with all the typing that my hands/wrists are too tired to do the crocheting/knitting all the time. That's part of the reason I'm doing more sewing at the moment as that seems to bother them far less - unavoidable long work hours at the moment. Still hopefully that will calm down at some point and then maybe I'll feel more up to the other crafting projects.

That seriously sucks for you. I'm lucky mine's only OA, which seems the lesser of two evils, although I have it in more than just my hand joints, so I'm often creaky first thing in the morning or in damp weather.

I hope when work hours aren't so long you'll be more able to indulge in other crafts. In the meantime, at least you have your stitching.

I am a broken record, but it’s a nice tune—more spinning and cross stitch last night. It’s nice to feel like a person who crafts again.
