Hello to all members, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

I got outside for a couple of hours, clearing ivy and honeysuckle ready for the tree removal next month, so I'm tired, but knitting is relaxing so I got another 12 rows done on the sleeve and 10 on the arm warmer. Nice to knit something really simple.

And yes, the red-striped things are all of the same fabric; it's just the illumination that makes the colours look different.

Personally, I could never use the words "knitting" and "simple" in the same sentence, but I'm glad you find it relaxing. *g* Congratulations to the steady progress.

Well done but I have to say that I’m with wiseheart on knitting not being simple, I obviously need more practice!

The sleeve progresses nicely and I know what you mean about knitting something simple - not having to watch the pattern all the time is so much easier.

I'm now working on the left front of the cardigan and managed several rows today, including the beginning of a unicorn head.

I've had a lot of practice *grins* The arm warmers are completely straight, no shaping, and single rib, so for me that's about as simple as it gets.

Thanks! I suppose I'm just used to it. The sleeve pattern isn't a difficult one, but it's an effort because of the number of stitches and all the counting. The arm warmers are easy (by my standards) because they're single rib and no shaping. I don't have to concentrate or count stitches.

Exactly, that's why it's nice to work on the arm warmers after all the stitch counting on the sweater sleeve.

Oh, wow, it looks wonderful, your granddaughter is hoing to love it, I'm sure. Good luck with the fronts.

It actually reminds me of a cardigan my mum made me when I was little. It was pink with a white pony on the back, rearing up like that, but there was grass at the bottom instead of a rainbow. I loved that cardigan, and I used the pattern many years later to make a small rug, but I never got it finished because I ran out of one of the colours. The rug's still around here somewhere, but the cardigan is long gone.

Some designs are classics, and I hope your updated version will be just as cherished. I know I would have adored it at your granddaughter's age. (In fact, I still would. You're never too old for unicorns and rainbows!)

Eeyore is fading slowly into existence! Most of his head is now in place. I’ve also worked on more of the outlining on the almost finished piece.

Eeyore and gloom do go together. He was always my favourite.
