Hello to all members, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Today's Question: No question today.

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

My paint by numbers so far.

It’s been aaaaages partially because I wasn’t crafting that much but also I took an unintended DW break-ish thing.

Anyway, today I dug around in my stash for dish cotton and cast on the first of probably many garter-stitch washing up cloths, my last batch a few years ago are getting knackered.

12 rows means another pattern repeat so it's all good and growing well!

I do like it!

At least they shouldn't require too much concentration, and should grow quickly.

6 more rows on the unicorn cardigan, plus a few for my latest throw square, and some stitching on the first of my Christmas cards (a penguin). Yes, the family are going to be very grateful for cross stitched cards this Christmas!

Thank you! I am pleased with the effects.

Just be careful with your hands; no need to overdo things.
Sunday, September 5th, 2021 10:22 pm (UTC)
I like being able to move between projects.

I've finished the first pair of oven mitts for Theo. I hoped to work a bit on the second pair as well but my fingers refused to cooperate. Apparently, sewing through 8 layers of fabric and lining material is only possible for a short time before getting cramps in the hands. Ah well, tomorrow is another day.

Self-made Christmas cards are the best! I sometimes make them with paper embroidery, but cross-stitched ones must be nice, too.

It is very pretty!

Last year I made cards using pieces of card and buttons, these will be from my Christmas kit and are quite cute.

Congratulations on finishing the first pair. I can well imagine how difficult the stitching would be.

Well done on all of the days achievements. Glad that you were able to relax with the knitting- you’d certainly earned the chance to relax by then.
Monday, September 6th, 2021 12:27 am (UTC)
Gradually coming together- hope you’re having fun with it.

Wow! So many projects in one day - lots of fun!

Well done on finishing the first pair. Hope your hands recover quickly.

I got about half of the outline detail on the paving stones done and then did some more on the new project - so many quarter stitches!
Monday, September 6th, 2021 12:48 am (UTC)
Thank you!
Monday, September 6th, 2021 12:52 am (UTC)
Thanks!
Monday, September 6th, 2021 12:54 am (UTC)
oh, the dreaded quarter stitch! yuk
Monday, September 6th, 2021 12:54 am (UTC)
Congrats on your progress. That does sound like it would hurt after a while.
Monday, September 6th, 2021 07:09 am (UTC)
Most definitely a very big yuk. Hopefully once this section is over there won't be anywhere near as many in the rest of the picture.
Monday, September 6th, 2021 07:22 am (UTC)
I like to have two or three crafting breaks in the day so I tend to do different projects.
Monday, September 6th, 2021 07:24 am (UTC)
There's a reason I avoid projects with quarter stitches!
Monday, September 6th, 2021 04:25 pm (UTC)
It was. Which is why I chose the coward's way out and decided to make the rest of them half as thick. Aside from the fact that Theo needs to be able to bend his fingers when using the things. *g*
Monday, September 6th, 2021 04:25 pm (UTC)
I know. That's why I progress in small steps.
Monday, September 6th, 2021 04:26 pm (UTC)
Fortunately, they do.
Monday, September 6th, 2021 04:26 pm (UTC)
They aren't as much hurting as cramping after a while; but it is still quite unpleasant.
