Hello to all members, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

The sleeve seams are now done and looking good, though I say so myself. Just the side seams to do tomorrow as I'm losing the daylight.

I’m about to start on my cross-stitch for today. I’ve spent some time going through all the other kits that I can find and my box of ‘spare threads’ with no luck at finding any more of the colour I was hoping to find to finish the flooring in the current project, which was a shame.

Unfortunately I also found more kits waiting to be done or finished including some I was given when a relative died. The waiting pile just almost doubled but at least the newly found ones are mostly fairly small.

I can picture another box of spare threads but cannot find it anywhere - that probably means it’s in the loft but I’m not up to tacking the ladder tonight!

Yes, I'm going with the pattern I mentioned a while back. Some minor adaptations to make to get the size suitable for skinny ol' me so I'll be working from two patterns again, but that's no problem. It should be simpler than the last one, I think.

Isn't that just the way? You look for something you know you've got, can't find it, but find more things to do instead. At least you're not going to be short of projects for a while.

I found a pattern I finished a while back which pretty much summed up my feelings for most of today:

I finished the Harry Potter hat from the kit the daughter gave me for my birthday. Not the sort of thing I'd wear when visiting places etc, but ideal for walking locally once winter comes.

Garfield is very relatable.

Stitching (or crafting or any description) is very good for improving moods. It's so good to be doing something you WANT to do rather than things you HAVE to do.

Thank you. I'm not a great fan of bobbles but the daughter would have complained if I'd left it off!

Bobbles please the big kid inside me, I've never really grown up *grins* Plus it's extra insulation at the top.

I did and made reasonable progress managing to finish the stitching on the book of magic.

Felt very chilled and relaxed by the time I was done which was the perfect end to the day and managed to get all the main stitching done on the book of magic - just the outline for the book, pages and lettering to do. Back to Mickey next and I'll make a start on the cave walls.

Oh, this is lovely! Bobbles look great, but my scalp always starts hurting from them after a while. So I gave up on them, even though I love them.
