Hello to all members, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Today's Question: No question today.

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

12 rows is still good progress, especially as it's brought you to the neck shaping. I have great confidence you will finish the back tomorrow.

Sorry to hear you hurt yourself - it really does get in the way when crafting. You did well to get so much done under the circumstances.

Oh dear, you really give everything to finish this piece - even your blood!
Good luck!

As promised, here's a picture of the shawl I finished last night! The color is off in this picture -- it looks much brighter pink than it really is. In truth the color is more like a salmon color.

A crocheted Seraphina shawl.

I was going to take today off to rest, because I did a LOT yesterday, but in the afternoon I felt like working on something so did three rows of the blanket.

The shawl looks lovely. Well done on making progress today as well.

This is lovely! I never saw a shawl like this - wouldn't mind to have one. Perhaps I'll have to learn how to knit, after all...

This is crocheted! It's called the Seraphina shawl, and is a very popular pattern. It's a bit tricky to get started but once the pattern is established it goes swimmingly. It's all double crochet and chains, so easy stitches.

Well, it won't change things as I can't crochet, either. *sigh*
Grandma was a wizard with crocheting, but I was never able to learn it properly, not even at school.

Not sure that it really counts as crafting but I repotted a lot of houseplants and tried taking cuttings to see if I can get some new ones of some of them - by the time I'd finished that, done some chores and made a call I was too tired to start crafting, so I just finished another book. Fingers crossed for tonight.

Gardening definitely counts as crafting - it is an art in itself!

I'm taking a crafting break again. The insulation work on our building has started, which meant we had to empty out the balcony... heaping everything that was there up in the living room and the study (=my workroom). Not the right circumstances for creative work. I'm glad the baby book is almost done; some fiddling with the spine will be necessary, but that can wait.
