Gah! What on earth possessed me to pick this pattern to knit?

I have three separate charts to work from for the pattern panels, two of 32 rows each, one of 16 rows. Two are cable patterns, the other is a travelling lace pattern that's easy to mess up. On top of that there's the bramble or blackberry stitch. The sweater is mostly symmetrical which means each pattern is repeated twice, so I'm working chart 2, chart 3, blackberry stitch, chart 4 twice, blackberry stitch, chart 3, chart 2 (For some unknown reason there's no chart 1).

I would have liked to reverse the lace pattern so the two sides mirrored each other, but my brain couldn't figure it out backwards from the chart and I didn't want to fiddle trying to draw a reverse copy. Too much like hard work.

Anyway, I've managed 10 rows so the pattern is set if I can just follow the charts and not screw anything up. *sigh*

That is far too complicated for me! I don't envy you, although I am mystified at the absence of chart 1.

I'm reasonably sure I can handle it, but it's more complicated than I really wanted at present. Still, I may as well continue now I've started. Hopefully it'll get easier as I get used to the various patterns. I do wish my needles were a bit pointier for the blackberry stitch though. Purling three together is difficult with the blunt pair I'm using. Might have to switch to a better pair.

I'm mystified too. Maybe the pattern writers are counting the blackberry stitch as pattern 1, who knows? Cabling on the right rows will be a challenge since the two cable patterns twist on different rows, and in different ways o_O I've done more complicated patterns, but not working from several charts.

It is a bit, but I should be okay, I think, once I get into the swing of it. I went a bit cross-eyes looking at the charts though, because they've very small, and the written instructions aren't very clear on this design either. Never mind, I'll figure it out.

Today I did a little work on four different crafting projects, wrote a few sentences for a fic, contemplated the other fic some more, and did two chapters in Code This Game! So it was a productive enough day, but I still feel like I didn't get much done. Blah.

It sounds like you got a great deal done, with a bit on a lot of projects. Bitty days like that can feel like you didn't get much done though, because it's all spread out rather than in one place. Ignore that dissatisfied feeling, it's misleading. You did great!

I've finished the fine linen veil and wimple and washed my silk surcote with a vinegar rinse to set the dye. It's very nearly dry enough to iron, so that might be a tomorrow thing.

I've spent the rest of the day working of signs for the tent and social media posts and photo editing, but I've still got sewing and other craft that needs to be done.

There is also the very real possibility that I'm going to get stuck with painting a shield for the opening ceremony of the festival but they haven't decided if we need it yet or given me the shield itself. I saw a photo of it, so potentially there is one. It's 6 days until it's needed. SIX DAYS and I have other things to do. I really hope they make their minds up because it's not much time to paint a shield. I'm preemptively making a stencil of the design for the front of it- a medieval crowned A which is the festival logo.

Goodness you're still so busy! Well done for getting as much as you have completed. I hope you don't end up having to paint the shield. It sounds like you've got more than enough on your plate already. Hope it's all ready in time, six days isn't much time!

Yeah. I'm a bit O.O but I can do it. Surprisingly enough, it's the simple blackberry stitch that tripped me up earlier. I need to pay better attention to that.
