Hello to all members, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Cookbook progress

Originally, I only planned to make two pages - there is not such a big hurry, after all - but managed to glue on Page 14 where Page 12 should have been. *sigh* Fortunately, I managed to take it down again before the glue would have dried, but the whole thing was very annoying, and I had to do twice the work in a hurry. I don't like crafting in a hurry. OTOH, two thirds of the book are now done, so there's that. ;0)

Mistakes happen. no matter how careful we are. Glad that you could fix it before the glue set, even if it meant rushing a bit.

You're really doing well with the book!

That was a relief indeed, although one can see that I've had to improvise with Page 12 quite a bit. I ruined two pieces of paper before I got it in a shape that I could accept, even if I'm not entirely content with the outcome.

Tomorrow I'll hopefully get the second shoulder seam done and some slip-stitching to give a better finish around the neck. Lots of loose ends to get rid of. Then it'll be on to setting the sleeves in.

Thank you. Not in all details how I wanted it to be, but I'm glad I could iron out the stupid mistake with a minimum of loss and frayed nerves. *g*

It was a hot day outside, but cool in the house, so I sat and stitched some of the flower bed for my bandstand cross stitch, and then knitted part of the next square for my throw and a few rows of my granddaughter's hat (which is definitely not urgent, but had been sadly ignored!)

Thanks, yes, I can. I've done it more times than I can remember, but the finish is important, it's no good to rush this stage. A little extra care makes a big difference.

I know. It's all the picking up of stitches around the neck and making sure it's even. The next step is tricky too, finishing off all the ends and neatening up around the base of the neck so there aren't any gaping holes. Neatness counts.

I braved the heat and melted outside for an hour and a half. There's so much to do out there. Most of the progress I made last year has ben undone thanks to me not being able to get out there for so long. *sigh*

Still theoretically possible to get it done by the party, but it's looking less and less likely. Oh well, I have a backup plan in case it's not finished!

Today I did six rows. Might do more, we'll see if I get in the mood.

That's a lot of knitting to do, but if you don't make it in time at least you have a backup plan. Better not to stress yourself over it. Crafting should be fun, not a chore.
