Hello to all members, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Today's Question: No question today.

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

Sorry you're not feeling well. That's great progress for being under the weather.

I've decided to do a cross stitch for my sister's birthday next month so I went today and got aida and 3 floss I didn't have. Updates to come. The pattern is from Shitpost sampler tumblr so v snarky.

Rest, if you need it. Your knitting will wait for you patiently. :)

Snarky cross stitch? Now that I'd like to see!

My little flock of paper owls is nearly finished. The last 12 birdies got their wings attached and their contours drawn, so all I still have to do are the beaks. Which will take me several days, most likely, as cutting out and applying such tiny parts is finickly work. But it will be done till next Tuesday... I hope. *fingers crossed*

Ha! I will be a few weeks but I'll post a photo when done and possibly more along the way.

Water color progress!

Alas tomorrow I don't know what I'm going to be able to get done -- our district manager is coming for a visit so we won't be able to do anything except work (which right now means a whole lot of doing nothing because no customers).

Woo, but yes please rest!

I love shitpost samplers. Very excited to see your progress!

You got this!

Nine rows on the blanket! Short of my daily goal but still, I'm pleased. There's a possibility I might squeeze out one or two more but I'm probably done for the day.

I'm making a sign for Covid safety for my tent for an upcoming event.
Post here about it: https://medievalrosalie.livejournal.com/50053.html if you're keen. I had planned to put a picture on it which isn't needed now and I have to start over with the writing to make it look nice.

Surcote-wise, still going on that. The back gore is finished now and I'm sewing the sides. Still lots to go.

Rest up. Knitting and the world can wait.

If you're not a member of the Snarky Craft group, you might like them. They're hilarious.

Did you decide about the legs? I may have missed that post.
Tuesday, June 8th, 2021 10:30 am (UTC)
Much achievement!
Tuesday, June 8th, 2021 10:31 am (UTC)
oooo swirly!
Tuesday, June 8th, 2021 12:15 pm (UTC)
Oh, thanks!

I know that... in theory. In practice, even tweezers are sometimes too delicate for my sausage fingers. They are excellent for kneading dough or massaging people's sore backs, but for fiddly work... not the ideal size. *g*

I hope so. Working with such a close deadline is a bit stressful.
Tuesday, June 8th, 2021 04:20 pm (UTC)
Nah, you haven't. I haven't discussed that part here, but in the end I decided to take the coward's excuse and pretend they are hiding their feet under their feathers. Unless I go briefly insane within the next day and change my mind, that is. It's known to have happened before. ;)
Tuesday, June 8th, 2021 04:22 pm (UTC)
That promises to be a great sign - hopefully one that will catch people's attention and make them, you know, *think*.
Tuesday, June 8th, 2021 04:23 pm (UTC)
Any progress is progress! I've long forgotten what little I ever knew about knitting, but I imagine a blanket is a big piece, so nine rows is considerable!
Tuesday, June 8th, 2021 04:24 pm (UTC)
That is very pretty!
Tuesday, June 8th, 2021 08:22 pm (UTC)
Oh, it isn't of vital importance. My sausage fingers and I manage well enough between us, even if we have to fight the tiny parts sometimes. ;))
Tuesday, June 8th, 2021 11:35 pm (UTC)
Thanks!
Tuesday, June 8th, 2021 11:36 pm (UTC)
Thanks!
Tuesday, June 8th, 2021 11:36 pm (UTC)
Fingers crossed!
Tuesday, June 8th, 2021 11:37 pm (UTC)
Thanks!

And yes that's why I've been working on art things. It makes the day go by better :)

We are compelled to have sanitiser and signs. Given that most people here refuse to wear masks, I'm sure I'll be coming home with most of it.

One can only hope.
*wishful thinking*
