Hello to all members, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Today's Question: No question today.

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

Because I have several projects already on the go, I decided to start something else and cross stitch a small bookmark for the Daughter for her birthday. Which is three week's away. It should be possible, but even so, why, brain, why?

My yarn I had ordered arrived today! I wasn't home to receive it but I asked mom to open it and take a picture. Here it is:

A picture of medium blue yarn.

That only shows a few of the skeins, I ordered what should be enough to make this top:

I'll probably start swatching the moment I get home on the 13th, heh.

Today I have been working on the graduation blanket on and off. Mostly off, but I think I got about six rows done? Unsure. It's only 6pm here and I am a night person so I will likely do more knitting after dinner.

My little paper owls are taking shape. The limited me-time today was spent with contouring every single body part of them... okay, the ones that are already glued on. They still don't have any beaks or wings, and I'm of two minds whether I should give them feet or simply pretend that they hide them under their feathers, but they already look good.

Because only one project at a time would be too easy? ;))

It sounds like a smallish project, but still, 3 weeks is not long!

Those are great! The blanket must be coming along now!

They sound pretty cute! Maybe save the feet til last and decide then!

I had a busy day today! I helped a few people in our medieval group make patterns for hose and I helped pin in another girl's kirtle, bought a heap of linen for various projects (veil and wimple) and I'm still sewing like crazy on the wool surcote, but that's coming along a bit. Still a lot to go, but I am getting there.

I've stitched her initial, now need to do the pattern with it. I shall see what else I add, maybe a cupcake, depending on the time available. I have less than three weeks as I need to post it to her.

Busy, but hopefully enjoyable!

That is the cunning plan, yes. ;)

It is maddeningly fiddly! But the things look unfinished without it, so I always take the time to pretty them up.

That sounds really exciting - even if it's a lot of work. Good luck!
