Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

This Week's Question: What kinds of organizers do you like to hold your arts and crafts supplies?

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

I’ve stayed up past 3am the past couple days finishing a fic for a gift exchange, but at last, it’s done on time!

Besides that, to answer the weekly question, I have an old kitchen utensil organizer that I use to store my bookbinding cover materials and rolls of paper and whatnot and that’s been working well for me. And a hanging cardstock organizer that arranged in a rainbow. 🌈 Other crafts that are more easily contained (embroidery, needlefelting, etc) have their own dedicated cloth storage cube on a shelf at the foot of my bed.

Today's creative work is posting poems from last week's Poetry Fishbowl.

No yardwork due to rain, but that's okay because we need the rain.

finished my pin cushion! (pic one, pic two)

got caught up in the finish-itis today and did way more than I intended to, but my wrists still feel mostly ok so I guess they're recovered! but I'll be very glad to go back to less straining projects lol

Made another sample coaster. Wrote instructions for a matching washcloth, but I haven't starting knitting that yet.

On the 1st, I started this Sand Dollar pattern for Nerdopolis' Beachcombing challenge. It sat for a few days until I got new needles, which I did today. I worked on it a bit more, and really, this thing should have been written for fingering weight yarn than worsted. IT'S HUGE! Much bigger than the sand dollars I am familiar with. It will make a decent washcloth, though, so I'm going to finish it with the worsted weight cotton.

Earlier today I wanted to work on the tiger eye scarf, but I had a weird stitch and I couldn't tell if it was a misplaced YO or if I slipped a stitch without knitting it. So I dutifully counted stitches, but... uh... how many stitches are in each row anyway? Pattern says it's a 25 stitch repeat, but the number of stitches per row CHANGES. I started a spreadsheet to figure out how many stitches are used / resulted in on each row, so if I screw up again I can refer to that spreadsheet. Didn't finish the spreadsheet because I had to dart to therapy, but I'll finish it tonight or tomorrow.
