Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Took a break from sorting papers and did some work in the front garden. My friend went at it like a bull in a china shop as usual, took the best part of an hour to clear up the mess he left, and the bin, which won't be emptied again for two weeks, is almost full. I remember when gardening used to be relaxing. I appreciate his assistance, I just wish he could be more methodical instead of trying to do as much as possible in the shortest possible time. Maybe it's a man thing.

Real Life has swallowed me again, but at least today I was moderately successful. I've finished the middle-sized teddy I had started yesterday and I've stitched the face of another mini-teddy. Only six more to do before I can start putting them together.

...this sounds very much like working with my husband.

My dad doesn't do this though, he's methodical & tidies as he works.

I finished digging grass from the third triangle bed, and decided to transplant a small chunk of both blue mist flower and black eyed Susan into it. I may sprinkle some marigold and bachelor button seeds into all 3 tomorrow.

I think I will mow again tomorrow.

I tidy as I work, I've explained this to my friend. He doesn't get it. Once again, he left piles of cut down stuff on the garden and was still cutting down more after I said there was enough. More than enough, really.

Sounds like those beds will be a riot of colour if the seeds come up!

My lawn needs mowing, but I broke my new mower the first time I used it last year, and I haven't got a replacement part for it yet. It would probably only break again anyway, because those parts are plastic.

Today I planted the last tree seedling from Douglas-Hart, although I still have a whole bundle from Cold Stream Farm. Most of the day's effort went to bushwhacking and stick pickup though. Not exactly creative necessary to clear the prairie garden path to be mowed.

I'm also still working on the Poetry Fishbowl prompts from Tuesday.

my brain remains in "Crafting Only" mode and doesn't seem in a great hurry to switch out of it

got 2 more rows in on the curtain, and also poked at my forever-project cross stitch

sort of hoping that swapping between the two will keep me from stressing my wrists too much given that this is All my brain wants to do >.>

may also try to get a ride to my local embroidery store soon(ish) too, to pick up mats for another cross stitch I'd like to start (the Amaurot one, think I linked it here a while back)

relatedly, that Amaurot pattern has the most organized thread list I think I've ever seen lol, it's really nice

Picking up sticks may not be creative, but it's important. I've gathered a lot of dead twigs for the fire.

Well done on the curtain, and good luck with the cross stitch! I want to get back to doing cross stitch again, but life has gotten in the way again.
