Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

This Week's Question: What is a craft that you tried but abandoned?

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

I'm now well over the first half of my scarf!

At knitting club this morning I finished the first square of the blanket. I'm freestyling the patterns and this one's a bit wonky, but it's just a blanket for my cat, so he won't mind XD

Well done! The first half's always the hardest.

Hey, you are nearly done!

I've finished the second felt kitty. Not a significant progress but progress nonetheless. Especially considering how unmotivated I've been lately. Which also means that the Easter baking will be cut back considerably, with only three or four sorts of biscuits and likely the same number of recipients.

Did the first sample for my new class: the classic "make a bunny from a square piece of knitted fabric". Well, the knitting part is done; I've got to do the finishing, but that won't take too long.

I timed myself, because I couldn't remember how long it took to knit this project. I had guessimated 4-5 hours when we were discussing it in my interview. I cast on less than normal but not terribly less than normal, and this only took me an hour and a half. Nice. I'm gonna make another one at the cast on # called for in pattern, so it should turn out slightly bigger and take a little longer. I'll do that over the next few days.

Yay sweater progress!

Hopefully I can get back to some of the clothing items I have in progress soon. I'd love to finish a sweater by fall. It will take that long at the rate it's been going.

The "pattern" I use is this one, but there are others out there with the same principle: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/knit-bunny-from-a-square

This time, I did it half in garter and half in stockinette. Gonna sew it so head is smooth and body bumpy. I think it might look cute this way, but my real reason for doing so is that this is going to be a beginner knitting class, and I want them to learn how to purl as well as knit. This way, they get plenty of knit stitch practice before we start purling, but there's enough purling to get them comfortable with that, too.
