Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

This Week's Question: What is your favourite thing to make?

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

Yes, I know it's a horrible pun, but fact is, the craft and gift shop where I bought this simple sewing kit is *really* called TEDI. So, here is the TEDI Teddy; the pattern on the package front on the left, the actual product on the right.

Still no idea how to embed pictures, even though our fearless leader has explained to stupid me at least twice. *sigh*

How annoying that certain countries just block various websites, so that people have to redo all the work!

I hope you'll get better, soon.

I have yarn coming in the mail soon. It was bought for one potential idea for the fan art contest, but I do not have enough time to do that idea. Still, the yarn won't go to waste because this idea is one I've had for years, so now I have the yarn for it.

I stopped at Michaels yesterday and picked up some crochet thread for fan art idea number 2, which was a filet crochet something. Except to get the level of detail for the thing, I'd have to start with 450 chains so it'd be HUGE. Scratched that idea.

So I'm falling back to one of my original ideas, which I'm not going to say here what it is because I think there's a rule that you can't talk about it before finalists are announced. I worked on it some today, making up a pattern myself, and so far it's working nicely! I hope it turns out well.

What is your favourite thing to make?

+dutifully goes to her Ravelry Index page+ Apparently, it's accessories! Sounds right. Here's the count by category:

Accessories: 374
+ Neck / Torso: 132
++ Scarf: 29
++ Cowl: 26
++ Shawl / Wrap: 76
+ Feet / Legs: 20
++ Socks: 13
+ Bag: 29
++ Tote: 6
++ Purse / Handbag: 5
++ Drawstring: 7
+ Hands: 28
++ Fingerless Gloves/Mitts: 22
+ Other Headwear: 32
++ Headband: 17
++ Kerchief: 11
+ Hat: 130
++ Beanie, Toque: 114
++ Billed: 5

I am SHOCKED by that shawl/wrap total. I mean okay I was in a shawl ministry for a while, but I thought I only did about 20 shawls for them. 76 shawls sounds like an awful lot....

failing badly at giving myself a break >.> high motivation + good audiobook is a hell of a combo

did decide to switch patterns tho, so now I am making an entirely different gauge swatch lol

it's gonna be more boring to make, but it'll look nicer

ahaha the pattern I just moved to is filet crochet in size 10 crochet cotton and while I can't do the math until I figure out my gauge, I am trying not to think about what that starting chain is going to be like. over 1000 seems likely

The anxiety is still strong today, but that has translated into a lot of knitting. I caught up on my rows on the cable blanket (5 in total), and I knitted 11 rows on the garter slip-stitch scarf.

Just a fun little thing, for reasons, mostly because of other book issues. Still nerd to do a locked post about that.
