Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Managed to sew wings on 10 bees today. I'd hoped for 12 but the weather was really overcast and nasty, and there wasn't good daylight to work by. Artificial light is never as good.

I've finished the teddy bear plushie. Coming up next: the elephant. This one will be a bit more complicated because I'm planning to add Indian-style details like pretty rugs on the back and headdresses and all that, even though strictly seen my elephants are African ones, based on their large ears. On the other hand, they don't have tusks, so...

Yes. Okay for somethings, but natural light is better for crafting.

I struggle to sew in artificial light, too, especially on darker fabrics.

Just call them Oliphants and nobody will know. I think they will be wonderful, and a great way to use up any stray bits of trimming.

I have just spent a large part of two days, crawling around on the floor, cutting out the pieces of fabric to make a jacket. I'm nearly finished. At the last minute I decided that the interfacing I had was too light, so I will add another layer.

Oof, that's hard on the knees, but with sewing, sometimes the floor is the best place for laying everything out. Good luck, I hope your jacket will be worth the effort!

Artificial light just doesn't work right. It has a different quality somehow.
