Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

This Week's Question: What are your crafting goals for 2026?

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

I did a tiny bit of crafting - two tiny motifs, which have brought me to finishing the second dollhouse dressing room. Now I'm trying to figure out how to design the living rooms. At least I do have the page bases for those ready.

Not much got done in recent days. We had water damage in the bath, the loo *and* in the kitchen. Cleaning up after that was both frustrating and exhausting. But I hope that part is done by now - until Spring, when all three rooms will have to be painted anew. *sigh*

... aaaand I forgot: behold the dressing rooms!

Yesterday: six rows on the Central Park Hoodie, and I cast on for a shawl using some pretty yarn I had bought for potential sweater ornaments (yarn is fingering weight, and I could NOT do the ornaments with fingering, even though I tried both bottom-up and top-down patterns).

If I do six rows a day on the hoodie, I can have the first sleeve finished by January 15th! Then maybe I can do the second sleeve by end of month! That would give me good progress on it.

I also wrote my "Things to Work on or Finish in 2026" post, which includes the list of my current WIPs: https://althea-valara.dreamwidth.org/1261046.html

Now I am going to do today's six rows on the hoodie.

I am very much digitally organized, yes. Physically organized? HA HA HA HA HA. Right now my room is actually not a disaster because I had to clean it for our family Christmas party, but I expect it'll revert to its usually chaos soon.

Today I'm making more little paternosters with skull gauds to sell at events and I am loving them!

I'm still posting like crazy to cover the year-beginning stuff. I've made a great start on my goals already!

Also I put [community profile] get_knitted in the Follow Friday post for Most Useful Communities.

hi I'm still alive

didn't get a whole lot of crafting done last year, but I'm attempting to make a new year's commitment to getting at least a little done each week this year! no idea how long it'll last, but I got 3 rows done on a blanket today so that's something at least lol

Fiber arts club this morning went well. Five of us showed up, including me. I was the only one knitting, but I kind of expected that. Three people were crocheting and one person was working on a latch hook rug. All different ages, all different levels of experience. I hope everyone comes back next week.
