Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

This Week's Question (courtesy of [personal profile] cora): What was your last project that got put into "time out" and why?

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

insert hemming and hawing here etc, hopefully it keeps going good! This is about the 25% mark.

ooo I did bees and a hive a long while ago. Good luck, sorry about the gloom and rain but what can you do about the weather 😔

I redyed some leather cut out shoes which were getting tatty, and I just need to wax them tonight and they're done.

The house inspection looms so doing the big tidy before work today and the big last minute clean tomorrow. The place is usually pretty reasonable but you know how it goes when you craft a lot!

There was not much crafting today. I got up early to go to the one store I hadn't tried yet for Halloween supplies and mostly came up empty and paid way more than I wanted to for what little I did find. And after all of it, I still forgot to get a pumpkin to carve and candy for the trick or treaters. (Luckily, I was able to get money to my aunt before she went to the store and she picked up candy for us.)

After that, I worked on Steve 2.0. I realized my plan of cutting the knotted part of the yarn out was unnecessary, it's not as bad as it had looked, it's just going to take awhile to detangle.

I also got the first layer of paint on my pumpkin for the library done. It has to be turned in Thursday before I go out of town. (Mom's princess pumpkin is all done.)

Then it was time for dinner and to meet up with friends at the haunted house.

Hopefully, I can get some more stuff done tomorrow, but I rarely feel up to much after Lynne's, so we'll see.

Let's hope this batch's spiritedness isn't a sign of oncoming sentience ;)

The haunted house was fun, but it does kind of baffle me how the location, theme, and most of the cast change every year, but it's still some how largely the same? Like, I hadn't been to it in about 6 years, but my mental check list was going, "yup, there's the aggressively creepy old man trying to warn us not to go in, there's the woman trying to sell food made from babies, there's the clown jump scare, there's the dizzy tunnel..." etc. But they do a really good job with it and the friends I came with made it more fun.

True. It meant I knew not to wear my glasses in haunted house so I wouldn't die in the dizzy tunnel. (It has special lighting to screw with your depth perception and spins while you walk through it. My glasses are good for distance only, not trying to figure out where the ground is.)
