Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

I have taken pumpkin photos since it doesn't look like we'll be getting sunny weather anytime soon. Still have to load them on the laptop, crop and resize them, and decide which ones to post. I've taken group shots of them so I have pics of every pumpkin for future reference, but I don't want to post them all online.


Also knitted two bee bodies, decided I should make another half dozen bees just in case.

What was your last project that got put into "time out" and why?

My Motion Picture Mosaic Cardi was in timeout this week because when it came time to do the front, if I had followed the pattern exactly, the front and back edges wouldn't align. I actually charted the smallest size to confirm the edges ARE supposed to align (they are).

Obviously something went wrong with my crocheting. Rather than rip out (it took a LOT of time and effort to get even this far), I'm going to try an alteration. I've started the right front so as to align with the back edge, but this means the right front will be short stitches. I'm going to increase at the neck edge every row for the 12 rows of the right front, which should give a V-neck while getting me back to the number of stitches needed. I think that might work AND look nice.

I have 7 more rows to crochet on the right front. You're not supposed to seam until you finish the left sleeve and left front, but I'm gonna go ahead and do a temporary seam once I finish the right front so I can try it on and see how it looks. If it looks awful? THEN I'll rip back. But I really, really don't want to, because I'd like to finish this cardi this year, and ripping back an entire sleeve will be a huge setback.

Ooof! Good luck, I hope your fix will work and look great. Just take plenty of notes so that the other side can be made to match.

Good luck with the cardi! I hope it all works out with the temporary seam. Making clothing is always a massive effort. You can do it!

The egg drop project went well! The egg survived, and One was quite pleased with this result.

I crocheted the remaining pieces of the amigurumi turtle shell and belly; still need to crochet the limbs and tail and head, but all of those are quite finicky pattern-wise (odd stitch counts, but not technically difficult) so I can't just crochet it while chatting with someone or even listening to something complicated, so I worked on my circle shawl again at crafting today instead.

Also started working on some Lego flowers as a project especially for me and One. A friend sent them to me, and One was given a small lego kit as a reward for her egg project succeeding, and she really enjoyed building that with her dad, so I figured flowers were something we could do together, if slowly and in small spurts when Two and Three are napping and unlikely to disrupt or try to swallow pieces of the project.

Also supplies for my korean knotting (maedup 매덥) project have started arriving, so I've been rewatching tutorial videos so that when I finally have a chance to sit down and work on it slowly (inexperienced and also the best tutorial videos seem to be in Korean, big surprise there, though with K-pop Demon Hunters interest in the craft is taking off), I won't be totally lost and confused.

Monday was card making with Lynne. The energy was all over the place. She didn't know what day it was or remembered I was coming over and was coming back from the store when I got there. After we got things sorted, we did make cards. They were purple and green with nature themed paper and quotes about dreams on them. I also did some very minor household stuff for her like I would have back in the day. She definitely seemed more overwhelmed than usual, but she had also just had family visiting.

Knitting is still on a break because I have accidentally created Steve 2.0 T.T It's not actually that bad, but it feels like it. I had knitted a row and a half on the scarf and the yarn stopped pulling from the center of the skein. It turns out the the center of the skein had a really bad series of knots in it and it was bad enough I had to cut my scarf free from the skein to address it. It's been two days now and many hours of detangling by both myself and my mother and it's still has a really bad gnarled wad in the middle, but most of the yarn is detangled and wound. It's just the extra stubborn bit that's left. So frustrating, especially as the scarf is almost done.

The turtle sounds lovely, I look forward to pics when you manage to get in finished. Good that you had the shawl to work on in the meantime.

Between the two of us, my mother and I have gotten the majority of the yarn untangled and spooled onto things, but I think I'm going to have to just cut the tangled part that's left. Neither of us can make the knots budge and I'd still have most of the yarn to work with, which should be more that enough to finish the scarf. (At least this skein was free.)
