Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.
Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?
There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.
This Week's Question: Share your favourite crafting tip, if you have one.
If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.
I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

I have knitted 4 meece bodies (2 each of sparkly purple & turquoise and sparkly purple & pale pink) to go with the tails I already had yarn cut for. Also crocheted all 8 ears. I still have three or four other ears surplus to requirements though, so I might have to knit meeces to go with them. Can't waste meece ears, and I can't use them for anything else.
Anyway, I now have 6 meeces to sew up and stuff...

Today's plans are mostly yardwork.
Tomorrow we hope to catch an evening farmer's market to see if that one is any good.

When you're going to fall festivals, watch for other crafters. Around here we see blacksmiths, broom makers, seatweavers, woodcarvers, fibercrafters, painters, photographers, upcyclers, ceramic artists, and more. It's useful to know who else is into your craft, or related crafts, in your general area. They will often know about resources like stores or other events.

Great idea, knitting for charity is always rewarding.
Re: Thoughts
Good luck with the yardwork.
I wish we had fall festivals and such around where I live, but there's rarely anything craft-oriented these days. We used to have a regular monthly craft fair pre-pandemic, but these days there's practically nothing. Last craft fair we had back in November, there were 6 stalls and only 4 were actually craft stalls. Used to get 20-30 stalls.

I do have a potential issue in that the largest size in the pattern might not be large enough for me, so I might have to improvise some/do math. I'm willing to do that, but just hope I have enough yarn. I will order more if I have to but I've had this yarn for a few years so the dyelot will be different, hmm.
Otherwise, I have been putting a lot of work into my Neocities site for

for now, here's a leather belt I put mounts on only to discover that they don't go through the buckle and now I need to change the buckle and swap the belt hanger for an earlier time period one.

Thanks. I wasn't supposed to be making more meeces, I don't NEED more meeces, but I have to finish what I started.

The synagogue has a whole closet full of donated yarn for charity knitting, and I found some soft bamboo yarn in pretty pastel colors that will make a great baby blanket.
