Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

I went out and did a bit of work in the garden, clearing some weeds this morning, then cutting some brambles this afternoon. Managed to get stung by a bee for the first time EVER, but it was my fault. I forgot they were nesting under a patio slab and I was clearing brambles and dead leaves. Noticed the bees, and decided to helpfully clear the leaves from the edge of the slab so they could find their way in. One bee took exception to that and attacked my hand, but I was wearing gardening gloves, shook glove and bee off, and only got a tiny dose, no worse than an ant bite, so the bee kept his stinger and survived. He attacked my glove for a bit longer, then I was able to retrieve it and went to clear brambles elsewhere.


Done some work on the first cross stitch seashell. Stitched the first three colours, which leaves one more and the backstitch.

Woke up before everyone else this morning so I managed to get some crocheting in before alarms went off, and then again while waiting for One to get home from school. I recorded part of a podfic during naptime when I could have been crafting but oh well… 44/55 rows in on this blanket! But up to about 600 stitches per row.

Yay for getting early crochet time! Only 11 increasingly long rows to go, you can do it!

It only hurt for a few minutes, I must have only got a tiny bit of bee venom, and at least the bee survived the experience. Tiny mark on my finger, but no pain.

I made some more cellophane bags. 16 pieces in just under two hours, to be accurate. I'm really getting the hang on this. 32 done, the other 32 to go - then I'll run out of cellophane. *g*

I also made the first batch of jam for the fair - it's early, but jam will keep... if I did it correctly. *fingers crossed*

The dreaded pig... No, it wasn't so bad, a bit dull stitcho9ng all the white, but the backstitch really brings it to life.

I'm doing a little crane as a request for someone so yknow not really the main project but I'm doing it! prrroobably sometime tomorrow I can get an image uploaded? It's not quite done yet though.

Hope there's no nasty after effects of the sting - I've never been stung by a bee but did have a nasty reaction to the one and only wasp sting I've ever had.

I love the farm animals - they are lovely designs.

No problem from it at all, thankfully, but it was only a tiny sting. I'm just glad it didn't kill the poor bee.
