Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

This Week's Question: Do you change crafts with the season or stick to the same crafts year round?

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

Wow, that is brutal! How are your hands doing?

You are getting so much done. I need to weed but it will be normal weeding!

That’s so long in the garden. You’re a champion.

Last night I gave a talk to my Knitting Guild on how I crochet cat beds and encouraging them to try it themselves. I also created a scrapbook page to show off the most recently complete beds, which you can see here.

Yes, I take them to my two local shelters, plus I bring them to Furry Conventions to put into the auction to raise funds for whatever animal-related organization the con is supporting that year. I've also brought some with me when we're traveling if I know of a shelter near there or one of my friends is collecting stuff for one.

Those are fun. I'm sure small dogs would enjoy them too.

Not as much as cats do, from what I've seen. I'm more than happy to make them for dogs or any other critter than might like them. Such as a very small version for birds that are in rehab.

That’s so cool! And those cat beds look awesome.

Thank you!

I've made another six egg baskets - well, sans the handles that I'll have to add tomorrow. Six more left, and a few spares. Then I'll have to paint them. So not looking forward to that part! I mean, I wouldn't mind it so much if I had enough time, but all has to be done, dried and packed by next Monday, and that's a damn tight schedule. *sigh*
Thursday, April 10th, 2025 07:22 pm (UTC)
Oh God, I really hope so!
Wednesday, April 9th, 2025 10:23 pm (UTC)
Good luck! The painting makes it very tight.
Thursday, April 10th, 2025 07:22 pm (UTC)
Indeed, since they have to dry, too.
Thursday, April 10th, 2025 01:57 am (UTC)
That is indeed a tight schedule, but you’re doing great!
Thursday, April 10th, 2025 07:23 pm (UTC)
Not yet, but I'm trying my best. ;)

I made butternut soup today, and mixed up some pudding and juice because tomorrow morning my husband has his wisdom teeth out.

I also planted some bell pepper seeds saved from some very nice ones I got at the store. The plants probably won't be the same (these were huge orange peppers) but it will be fun to see.

That soup sounds delicious. Kudos to you for getting bell peppers planted.

Ouch! Your poor husband! Soft foods are definitely in order.

Good luck with the peppers.

Managed a bit of tatting today! Made it past the halfway point of side three. Getting close to the end of a bobbin again.

I really wonder how you find the time to do this, with a new baby and another two kids around. You are a true champion!

I've separated the future sleeves from the torso, yay! that's good progress.
