Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

This Week's Question: No question today.

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

I gave the rag doll a try. I've sewn the body together, cut out the various parts for the head and stitched on the front part of the hair. The paper patterns I've conjured up from the scratch worked well enough; there are a few small details I'll need to modify for the next time (and there definitely will be a next time - three more baby girls under the age of a year that need something to cuddle), but all in all I'll be able to put the doll together without great difficulties. Aside from the shoes, that is; I still don't completely understand how those will come together. I'll have to watch the video for another twelve or so times. *g*

I have two more colors to go on the last edge of nephew's graduation pillow, then I can weave in all the ends and sew on the backing and IT'S DONE!

Originally, I was going to make a corner-to-corner pillow, but (1) oi, the ends, (2) I lost track of where I was in the pattern, (3) I hated how it was coming out anyway. Since I had plenty of yarn left, I decided to scrap that and start over. What I've done is a simply granny square in the blanket's two main colors (black and tan), and then added granny triangles on each side of the square in the blanket's contrasting colors (silver and dark gray) so that the interior square makes a diamond. Figuring I just started this the other day, I've made really good progress.

I finished mini stocking 4, except for the loop to hang it and the weaving in of ends. I've done the cuff of mini stocking 5. I want to finish the pillow first, then focus on the mini stockings to finish those.

I... don't think time will allow, but if it does, I want to at least START another wall hanging. I'll just wrap whatever I have done and give it that way with a note that I will finish it in January.

I just needed a short breather to check social media, because I had been crocheting for about an hour non-stop (not including morning work, broken up by lunch and errands) and there's only so much I can do in one sitting.

I'm new, saw this community recommended in [community profile] crafty so thought I would join the fun! I've been crocheting a LOT since Halloween and my hands hurt very badly. I've been wanting to get back to knitting because it's easier on my hands, so since all the decor and gifting projects are done, I'm back to my old friend knitting.

So what did I do? I go back to this afghan I was working on that I was using row counters and a whole Method™ to ensure that I'd know what I was doing when I went back to it, since I last worked on it in September. And of course I didn't understand what any of the cryptic notes I left for myself meant. I did finally figure out what row I was on (after starting it one way and seeing after a few stitches that that was messing the pattern up *facepalm*), so I'm good to go as long as I don't leave it and forget what I'm doing again. So clearly the answer is to just not stop until the afghan is done. Lol. We'll see how long that lasts. XD
