Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.
Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?
There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.
This Week's Question: No question this week.
If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.
I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

Later, while we were watching Murdoch Mysteries, I knitted another 24 rows on the eclectic cable scarf.
Yesterday, I knitted a row on the wingspan shawl.
Monday was card making day with Lynne. I have still not pinpointed exactly why it was so draining. Lynne was in a good mood. She was very taken with the cards we made. We had no tape runners, but I used a package of adhesive squares meant for attaching photos during scrapbooking for adhesive. She did try to start talking about the election, but I distracted her with details of a friend of mine's ugly divorce and she never made her way back to the topic of politics. (I did tell my friend what I had done and she thought it was hilarious and was glad it was doing someone some good.)
When I showed up, no one answered the door. The car was still there and they can't hear knocking at the door if they are in the back, and I had my key with me so, I let myself in and called out to let them know it was just me. No response. No one was in the back. I exited the house and tried Lynne's son's cell phone. No answer. Not being totally sure what to do as I didn't know if they were out for fun or if something happened, I decided to let myself in, leave a note that I had been there, and go home. However this time, Lynne was standing in the dining room. I said hello, explained, and I don't think she ever understood. But, I made her breakfast (it was 12:30 in the afternoon by then and she hadn't eaten yet) and I left a note letting her son know that I had made Lynne breakfast, but I hadn't given her her medication, in case I didn't see him before I left. (He got very mad about the note for reasons I couldn't figure out, but was fine with me making her breakfast.) Then we made cards.
About the time we were done and I had started designing and prepping cards for next week, her son joined us. He had apparently hurt his back. He had me walk him through the card we had made, but he never got a chance to make one. While we were chatting, he ended up telling a very long story. Lynne couldn't follow it and apparently got very mad that how dare he tell a story during conversation and got after him to go clean up the backyard like he had promised! (He actually had cleaned up the backyard the day before, but it had stormed inbetween.)
He went out back. I finished what I was doing and cleaned up my mess. Lynne started going through old magazines.
My ride showed up shortly after and I went to go out back to tell Lynne's son I was leaving and he was just gone. Lynne had trouble grasping that was leaving, but also wasn't bothered by it. She also send me home with several old maps. I went home and tried to process my day.
There is also now confusion if I am supposed to take care of her cats over Thanksgiving or if she is staying home. I have a feeling it's going to be like last year and that of the 4 people involved with my phone number, no one is going to contact me and I just get to guess.

That does sound confusing and exhausting, all the 'are they in or not?' and the son disappearing, that would be enough to put anyone on edge a bit. Glad things went reasonably well though, and I hope someone does contact you about the cat situation.

I did forget to mention that he could have been hiding in the new shed/workshop. (They finally got the replacement for the one that burned down in April installed a couple of weeks ago.) But I was so very ready to go home by then and knowing that was possible didn't exactly improve the situation.

Today's progress was, as many days in the last week, a token bit of crochet.
