Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

This Week's Question: No question this week.

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

Some animals are like that; and not only the deep sea dwellers, apparently. I'm sure it was an interesting documentary. And go you for making such progress with your arm warmers!

The pics that I've promised:

First, the little pink angel that ended up looking like Marie Antoinette with butterfly wings. *g*

Then the two kinds of pencil holders: the ones that were sewn, using repurposed linen, felt flowers and jute stuff, and the ones that were glued, using felt, satin ribbon and little Christmas tree ornaments.

I'm really glad I've managed to finish the pencil holder (it is the polka-dotted one with the green ribbon around it) as tomorrow will be a busy day again.

Yay for good arm warmer progress!

Uh-huh. I just ecosiaed the Tibetan foxes. They sure look weird but also very cute in my eyes. Like something out of an anime, haha! Must have been weird to watch a nature documentary with them when they look like something out of an anime or live-action fantasy film. XD

Love your angel! She looks cute with those wings and her hair is just absolutely fabulous and you're right, she looks like a royal. :D

The pencil holders are lovely, too, and very practical. My favourites are the festive ones, hehe.

I was sick from 1 till 7 November and got way behind schedule. No crafting done at all, just buying craft supplies and stationery like a madwoman. Now my paid leave from work is almost over, tomorrow is my last day off that is not also a lecture day. I am so sad about that! At least I get 2 paid leave days back, which is about a week since I work part-time but my boss has already said I can't take the leave this year. Ugh.

Anyways, now I am done with all my tasks for today and can finally write a letter again! I hope to decorate the envelope a little, too, as it is a different size than my pre-decorated ones. Hopefully, I remember to add a new comment in this thread on whether I was successful or not. Off to the penpal writing desk I go! *waves*

I like the festive ones better, too, although they were the quick and easy work. The other three were really hard to make; I basically made them to use up this jute fabric that was simply too loosely woven to use for anything else.

The Marie Antoinette look for the angel wasn't originally planned. I've just miscalculated the amount of yarn I used for the hair; it gave me a lot of grief until I could fix it, but the result is nice, I think.

Yes, the narrow ribbons on top and bottom were an afterthought. They looked unfinished without them. I've gone through my entire stash till I found the ones that matched the colours of the wide ribbons in the middle. It was maddening!

I love the hairdo of the angel, too, but it was a pain to work with. I intend to make another one but with a slightly smaller wig. And a golden heart in her hands, for contrast. *g*

Awww, it's so frustrating when Real Life upends your schedule! I hope you are feeling better now. And buying craft supplies is a noble hobby, too, even if a bit expensive. ;))

That is a lot of progress, I should find something relaxing to watch for some of these cold damp days.

All the pencil holders have turned out great too.

Hope you're feeling better, and have fun with the letter writing!

Too fluffy! The glue could not hold it the way I wanted; it stuck to my fingers and all that... but it looks good, in the end, doesn't it? *g*

Thank you so much! :)

11 rows done on the blanket!

Working on the last dishcloth I mean to make for this batch.

I just put a "burrito casserole" in the oven. A couple packs of tortillas my husband bought turned out to have been so compressed, you can't get them apart. So I ripped up chunks to be a top & bottom crust, with all the things I would normally put in a burrito as filling. Mixed sour cream & shredded cheese to put on top.
