Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Another pair of arm warmers sewn up, so that leaves two to be done. But, I started knitting another pair for my neighbour. I'm 18 rows into the first one. They're a very dark navy blue, so that's a bit tricky to work with under artificial light, but I'll get there. My neighbour's daughter likes bright colours, but neighbour prefers darker shades.


Oh, and I dug up four more roots, three docks and a dandelion. Much shorter roots this time, the longest was about 8 inches. Yesterdays were all closer to a foot long. I suppose I should be grateful for the wet soil making it easier to pull big roots out in one piece.

It still sounds like hard work with the roots and so.

Congrats for having sewn up another pair of arm warmers. It's always a relief when we get over the boring parts.

It's not too bad, poke the garden fork in, wriggle it about, try to find the top of the root, which is so thickly coated in soil it looks exactly like the rest of the soil, then try to grip it, all wet and slimy, and pull, hoping it comes out easy enough that I don't have to pull any harder and risk falling over... Okay, yes, it's hard and it's messy, lol!

Finished a dress for Saturday night. Except for the hem. If you had any idea how many times it's been "except for the hem" you would probably laugh. (Answer: all of them. It's all of them.)

I'll try to hijack my sister into taking a photo today by daylight.

Congratulations on (almost) finishing your dress! The hem is always going to be the bit that gets left for last. Can't make sure it's the right length until you can try in on ;)

Haha yes. Sometimes I'll end up just putting something in a little nook around the house.

Finished the trivet the other day, beginning a dishcloth tonight. I wanted to crochet but didn't feel up to frogging the purple trivet back.

Sometimes it's too disheartening knowing you have to undo something you spent so much time on. Hopefully the dishcloth will be a relaxing project.

And now I have a stack of wet, muddy roots waiting for them to dry so I can brush the clods of soil off. *sigh*
