Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

There have been a few dry spells today, but it's mostly been cold, wet, and miserable so I've stayed in where it's been cold, but dry. I added the extra 10 rows to the second sleeve and cast off, so now I have to start the sewing up. Ugh. That's for tomorrow, depending on weather and other things.


This evening I added another 20 rows to the arm warmer. My left thumb is hurting a lot, but hopefully if I keep at the knitting it will get less painful. Arthritis sucks, but my hands just need to get used to knitting again. Not letting it stop me.

I was all over the town today, so no actual crafting got done. But I fed my terrible addiction by buying even more craft supplies. *g*

a few more rows on the tapestry, slowly but surely getting there (also slowly but surely running out of yarn >_>") but! I'm officially 1/3rd of the way through! 50 rows down, 100 left to go.
I'm also finally being productive and doing things I've been putting off... stressful, but I'll be glad when it's all taken care of. and I've got yarn things to comfort me in the meantime, lol

hand pain is never easy to deal with >_< hope it lightens up soon!

we've been preparing for some strong rains over here as well, lots of grey humid weather and flood warnings. perfect for napping, but not much else, lol

I'm sure they will come in handy! You have to reward your hard work somehow.

Always am. I was taking breaks on the sleeve, 2 or 3 rows, then put the knitting down for a few minutes to stretch my hands.

Fingers crossed that you'll have enough yarn or be able to get some more. Terrific that you're 1/3 of the way already!

Yarn things are very comforting, good for easing stress.

It's always there to some degree, but knitting and other activities are keeping things flexible.

That's the kind of weather that makes hibernation sound like a great idea.

I am sewing seams for a quit top, which I haven't done in ages.

A couple of weeks ago, I won an award for one of my quilts in a nearby show; it was not at all expected because I didn't enter the quilt in any of the judging categories, but there are apparently a few awards given out through the quilt show, even if the quilt isn't put in for judging and this was one of those.

So I'm inspired! (And I bought fabric. Mea culpa...)

What is the current quilt pattern?

I did get the lap quilt sandwiched yesterday, and started the first pass of quilting (I think there will be three passes). This morning I finished the first pass, and removed all the safety pins, and got started on the second pass.

Also found the weighted ring to go over the quilt while I'm doing the quilting -- less important while I'm straight line quilting, but still useful for keeping everything flat. Fatigues my hands more slowly!

It's called the Plaidish quilt - might be the "laid-back plaidish" according to the designer. I've got a pic of one I made last year in the next post.

I went to pick up a overlocker from a friend today, and she's putting her stash away after it kind of slowly taking over her 'spare room' a couple of years ago and discovered...she has a lot more fabric than she thought she did.

I think some collections (fabric, yarn, books) tend to bend space and time around them. I know that I opened a drawer today that I've opened before and there was fabric in it that wasn't there the last time I pulled it open and which I'd forgotten I have...

I swear things like yarn and fabric breed when no one is looking. They just spontaneously appear if you give then enough time. I'm always finding things I forgot about, usually while trying to find something I'm sure I've got, but which is being unhelpfully elusive.
