Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

I was out all morning, had to pick up my new glasses so I did a bit of shopping while I was out. Picked up a few bits in charity shops, several sets of clear stamps, a book of simple knitting projects — might be something I can make for next Halloween — some beads, and a couple of knitting patterns for Aran yarn. Of course, I don't actually HAVE any Aran yarn... Might have to but some since I fancy making a new Aran sweater or cardigan. I used to have a couple but, that was many years ago and I think they must have fallen apart, or the cream Aran yarn just got too discoloured. Lots of lovely colours available these days though.


Spent the afternoon in the garden, continuing my attempt to clear the top weeds off what should be a flower bed. I'm about three quarters done, but it will still need digging to get the roots out, and tomorrow is the last good weather....

It is hard to work when you have the feeling you're running out of time. *commiserates*

Yay for more crafting supplies, though!

I had to run errands today, but went to various shops for sewing and crafting supplies afterwards, built tulle and organza for the little angels I'm going to make. Alas, the biggest craft shop was a disappointment again. They cater for complicated and expensive crafts and hardly ever have the simple things I need. Ah, well, I've saved money that way.

Great that you managed to get what you need for the angels! Big is not always better, big stores might stock more but that doesn't mean they'll have anything useful.

I get three hours parking at the supermarket and only just got back in time. I don't know where the morning went! Everything seemed to take so long, and the things I wanted to get, the shops didn't have. Still, I did get some good bits in the charity shops.

At this time of year, the weather is even more unsettled. Next week is supposed to be storms, high winds, heavy rain, thunder and lightning... I want to get as much done outside as I can before the bad weather hits.

first time posting in here, hello ^u^

i've recently started on a crochet tapestry and I've been making good progress, it's gonna be 150x150 single crochets and a bit under 4 feet long once it's done! i made the design myself, based off the popular porcelain pattern Willow Blue (because I will find any way to combine my special interests, lol)

i'm also switching back and forth between some knit projects as well, a chunky tote bag hopefully for carrying projects around and a simple tank top based off one i recently finished. rest assured the only reason I'm making so much progress with my projects is that I'm putting off important tasks right now hehe

That crochet tapestry sounds like a brilliant idea! And I like the pattern idea. After all, if it's something you know you like, that makes the project even more interesting and fun! Will it be a wall hanging when it's done?

Crafting is a great way to procrastinate and avoid things we should be doing. I'm sure the bag will prove useful. It's fun when you can base an idea on something you've already made. You can be sure it will fit right. Good luck with all your projects!

Had a sort of "clean up" day where I went between various things and just tidied up. Made some notes for what we need to get at the hardware store, put some excess peppers in the freezer.

I got to the garden for about half an hour. I dug up some lilies that were leaning out into the street. Need to find them a new spot.

Craft-wise, I went over my list of upcoming present needs. I've picked out a doily for a December wedding.

It does, and I have a pattern I like, but there's also a long, sleeveless bodywarmer kind of thing, that's one of the patterns I got today, that I'd rather like to make... I need to calculate how much yarn I'm likely to need for each, decide which to tackle. I really ought to use the yarn I already have, but that's all double knitting and I'm craving Aran, so...

honestly I'm not sure yet if I wanna hang it up or just use it as a throw blanket once it's done lol, I guess it'll depend on if I can find dowels long enough to fit it once it's fully complete

Keep your options open until it's done. Then you can decide what will work best. Either way, it should look great!

I have three, or four, not sure now, all made from the same pattern but using different cables. I wear them for extra warmth over a sweater and under a fleece jacket at this time of year when the house is freezing but I haven't lit the fire yet. But I would like one that comes down further, so that's a possibility, if I can adjust the pattern I bought yesterday to give it a round neck rather than the current V-neck.

Getting run over wouldn't do them any good at all, poor lilies. Definitely better someplace else.
