Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

The high temps today meant I was able to get a load of laundry dry, and since tomorrow is set to be even hotter, I've got another load on. Nice to be back to having plenty of clean clothes!


So, while the laundry dried, I decided to have another go at clearing the far end of the path. This attempt was much more successful, I cleared all the way to the step, plus half the step before I had to stop to wash the dishes and take the washing in. There are still a few bits that need some work, including a very thick chunk of ivy I'll need to use the loppers on, but after three hours of steady work, I have another section of path! I really need to keep it clear in future though. It's under the may tree, so it gets a lot of leaves falling on it. I don't want it to get that bad again.


I didn't have time to stitch in the afternoon, but I got a bit done this evening, finishing the cross stitch on the third rose. Just the backstitch left to do!

As promised, here are the new cards:



They were really complicated to make, so there are a few hidden mistakes (hopefully not too obvious one), but I'm fairly content with the outcome.

And also exhausting, but drying weather happens so seldom these days I have to make the most of it. I'll be getting up at 7.30 again tomorrow so I can be outside hanging the second load of laundry on the washing lines by 8, like I was this morning. Probably won't spend so much time gardening though as tomorrow it could hit 30C. Today was only 26C.

They are, hence the mistakes. I'm planning to make some really simple little Christmas trees next.

I sandwich, quilted, and bound two quilts this weekend after procrastinating on them for, oh, six weeks or something. They're due at the pickup point this Thursday. EEK.

Most essential crafting item... my little snips I guess? Useful to cut thread but also use as an unpicker and an awl.

These are so cool! I remember back in the 1970s when string things were all the craze! I've not seen cards before, only the wall hanging pictures. I like the cards a lot!

What an epic weekend! Have I missed pictures? Pics to come? (I've been off group for a short while and am dreadfully behind in my reading back)

Working on the tops of the roses curtains for the tent, so although I've used them twice now, they aren't actually finished. The green stripe goes to the top where hooks will be added. Another big medieval post dump on my page (again sorry, distracted with family and events.)

Anything that cuts what neds cutting is essential. If they can be pressed into service in other ways, that's a bonus!

There always seem to be more pressing jobs, but I do need to get them done. I love using them!
