Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.
Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?
There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.
This Week's Question: Where do you do most of your crafting?
If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.
I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

Mostly I craft in the living room recliner.

The picspam is here.
It is basically a 3-piece card that turned out well enough. Save for the little rectangular box that isn't rectangular at all, but I decided to keep it anyway, for the sake of the pretty paper. I hope the recipients won't mind.

Something, probably foxes, ripped up the lawn last night. It's a mess. It's so muddy anyway that it's easy to dig into.

That sounds like a comfy spot for crafting =)

Sunday, I sewed a few hems on things that needed hems. I think if I sew 1 thing a day - at least one seam, I might get a whole bunch of things done over the course of the year...

I did make a birthday card for my aunt today though. That's something.
In other news, I did get an update on Lynne today. She's out of the hospital, things went well, and she's staying at her sister's until it's time to take the drains out. She's also sounding and looking better already (I briefly spoke to her and her son told me she's looking better).

Well done with the birthday card.
Also yay for Lynne! I hope she continues to improve.

What technique did you use for the birthday card?

With the birthday card, Lynne has a paper pad of "femme fatal" themed paper, it's coordinating loud colors, animal prints, and glitter (very my aunt). From that, I cut 5 layers - red (5-1/8 x 3-7/8 in), embossed green tiger print (5x3-3/4 in), red (4-1/8 x 2-7/8 in), and a different pattern (4x2-3/4 in). I adhered those to a precut, folded card base. Then I stamped "happy birthday" on a piece of the leftover red paper, cut it to a banner, and used foam adhesive dots to glue it across the top.
It gives the center piece of paper a "framed picture with fancy matting" look, with a banner across it.

Thanks :)
Thanks. We all do. She called again today and she's sounding better, though still a bit confused and wishes she was home.
