Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

This Week's Question: Where do you do most of your crafting?

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

Weather must be cooperating. Super windy here.

I have finished the bottom of the Yip Yip basket just now. As I'm using different yarn, I just kept going until it was the same size as the one in the pattern. That was 3 more rounds, so goes me a bit of an idea on the rest of it.

Mostly I craft in the living room recliner.

I've finished the inside of the front cover for the new baby book.

The picspam is here.

It is basically a 3-piece card that turned out well enough. Save for the little rectangular box that isn't rectangular at all, but I decided to keep it anyway, for the sake of the pretty paper. I hope the recipients won't mind.

Even if a bit lopsided; but I've given up hope on symmetrical things and straight lines. *sigh*

Wow, that was fast, wasn't it? Good luck with the rest.

I went to sewing group on Saturday and did some handsewing. It was nice to just sit and sew instead of rushing around ruining my body.

Sunday, I sewed a few hems on things that needed hems. I think if I sew 1 thing a day - at least one seam, I might get a whole bunch of things done over the course of the year...

Over the last 4 days, I have gotten a combined total of 5 hours of sleep and it all kind of caught up with me today.

I did make a birthday card for my aunt today though. That's something.

In other news, I did get an update on Lynne today. She's out of the hospital, things went well, and she's staying at her sister's until it's time to take the drains out. She's also sounding and looking better already (I briefly spoke to her and her son told me she's looking better).

Excellent

Well done!

Well done! I have found that recipients rarely notice when things are wonky and if they do, they assume it's intentional.

Very nice.

Good luck with your plan :)

Personally, I'd prefer a little less character and a little more accuracy, but I thank you nonetheless.

That is a sensible plan.

Oh, that is good news! But having some proper sleep was clearly needed, too.
What technique did you use for the birthday card?

Oh, I'm sure they won't mind. It's me who's unhappy with the fact.

Relocating to the couch from the master bedroom has gained me some more sleep. Only 3 hours at a time, but still an improvement.

With the birthday card, Lynne has a paper pad of "femme fatal" themed paper, it's coordinating loud colors, animal prints, and glitter (very my aunt). From that, I cut 5 layers - red (5-1/8 x 3-7/8 in), embossed green tiger print (5x3-3/4 in), red (4-1/8 x 2-7/8 in), and a different pattern (4x2-3/4 in). I adhered those to a precut, folded card base. Then I stamped "happy birthday" on a piece of the leftover red paper, cut it to a banner, and used foam adhesive dots to glue it across the top.

It gives the center piece of paper a "framed picture with fancy matting" look, with a banner across it.

Thanks. I am working on it.

Thanks :)

Thanks. We all do. She called again today and she's sounding better, though still a bit confused and wishes she was home.
