Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

This Week's Question: Where do you do most of your crafting?

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

I've finished the actual pages of the twin baby books. I still have to bind them, which is the part I hate, but otherwise the books are done. You can see the picspam here in my LJ entry - it's quite a few pics and I didn't want to take up so much space here.

As for the question of the week: I do my crafting in the study, especially the paper work that requires miles upon miles of working surface and an ungodly amount of tools. If I only have to stitch a bit, then I do it in front of the telly.

Haha, thank you! :)

That sounds like a really complicated design. How are your eyes keeping up?

Monthly crafting update in my journal, here: https://althea-valara.dreamwidth.org/1185706.html

I've got a good start to the month, and spent an hour and a half this morning working on nephew's graduation blanket. I'm hoping to get the first mosaic work done by Thursday so I can take it to Stitch Club - the mosaic section is way too complex to do in company, but I can easily do the stripe sequence while there. I've just come back from an errand and am checking social media, then I am going to sit down and work on it some more.

I just finished a project! I was sewing in the ends this evening, having steamblocked it this afternoon and I'm so pleased with it! It's a hooded cowl (the pattern is Hespera) that was in my queue just waiting for the right wool to come along, and it was a pleasure to knit. It's my first time doing a three needle bind off, and I'm totally converted.

I've always been too intimidated to try it before, but it's surprisingly straightforward! Can you do cables comfortably? If so I don't think you'd have trouble with it. Good luck! :D

One day, I will check in earlier. Today is clearly not that day.

I've been doing some knitting and some craft plotting, as it will be house-sitting for Lynne for an indeterminate amount of time starting this week.

I did go over there today, but no crafting as expected. I did see the fire damage. It's BAD, but not nearly as bad as I was expecting. When I was there, her son, her daughter, a family friend, and the insurance claims agent was there. It was very chaotic. I got what info I need for house-sitting I could & stayed for lunch. And that kind of sucked up what energy I had for the day.

I'm not surprised that you were floored after all that! But perhaps you'll get to do your crafting when you are alone in the house.
