Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Because of having to keep track of the increases, working on the sleeves of my sweater while watching Dancing on Ice was never going to work, so I went back to the arm warmers I started a couple of days ago and added 40 rows.


I had the most horrendous join in the yarn though. We all get them sometimes, where two lengths of yarn are joined together somewhere in the middle of a ball or skein. This one somehow managed to have four ends and at least two knots. Thankfully I noticed it before I started a row so there was no unpicking to do, just the ridiculous bundle of knots. I was tempted to just cut out the knotted bit, but I persevered and managed to get it undone.

It wastes yarn cutting bits out.

That's very annoying. The other day I had a knot in my crochet thread, which is very uncommon (and it's a premium thread).

Usually, joins in yarn are pretty easy to undo. No idea what they did with this one o_O

Very irritating with crochet thread. You don't want a bunch of unnecessary joins in a doily.

Today, in a sudden bout of madness, I've made two Christmas teddy bears. As they say, after Christmas is before Christmas. It isn't so as if I had two baby books with a deadline... oh, wait! I actually do! Ah, well, too late now.

Or something sounds good. Considering that the breaks are growing longer while the time left till the deadline grows shorter. *sigh*

Well, the Christmas teddies won't go to waste, and as we all know, paper-crafting requires a lot of space to spread out. Some days that's not practical.

That is true. I have a large desk, but I have to share it with my desktop PC, so paper crafting is always a bit problematic.

You'll get the paper-crafting done when the time is available for you to spread out a bit.

I potted 3 more plants today. Sunday is my "tidy the yard" and if I feel up to it I wander the neighborhood picking up trash along the street, so that's all I did today.

That actually sounds like a pleasant way to get some gentle exercise and keep the neighbourhood tidy =)

I think the jewelled circlets turned out really well and I had a lot of fun making them!
