Check-In Post February 21st 2021

Hello to all members, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Today's Question: No question today.

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

Having sorted through my scrapbag at the end of last month, I've been making an extra effort to use some of them up before I start cutting into new Beanies. Ive sort of kind of set myself a target of making ten new scrapbag babies in a row, and so far Im at six. Also made my first two Magnus Archives beanie - Bagel, Avatar of the Spiral, and Agape, Avatar of the Corruption.

I've just started listening to The Magnus Archives. I am up to the very beginning of season 3. I like it a lot. Perfect subjects for your craft.

I have managed about 5 rows on my baby blanket during D&D before I had to take charge of my kiddo while I gamed.

A frustrating long weekend all round, starting with my favourite border punch breaking, suffered through a lack of writing inspiration or energy, and ending with general mishap and disaster with all the cards I tried to make. One had to have its butterfly square motifs pulled off and restuck three times due to distractions from bickering family, and then I stuck the whole panel on the card upside down. Not to mention spilling my whole box of stickers all over the floor when it came loose from the top of the box. Argh!
Not looking forward to going back to work tomorrow either. Have already seen my inbox since I had to spend 3 hours of my annual leave day attending a seminar online. Lots of stupid urgent requests in there.
Getting so grumpy in my old age. :( Hope everyone else had a better and more productive weekend.

Cards made pre-unco-crisis (note, how bad my day has been the first time I posted this photo I noticed afterwards that one of the cards was upside down and had to retake and re-upload the photo. Guh!):

Cards I nearly threw across the room during my bad day:

I am sorry you had such a wretched day but they really are gorgeous. Every time you post photos, I am floored by your talent.

It must be contagious! Hopefully the worst of it is over. And the humidity over the weekend was bad here as well which always puts me in a mood. I hate that sticky, needing another shower feeling.
Today I managed to put out most of the fires burning highest on my pile of work or at least douse them for a few more days. I always feel a little calmer after that.

Thank you. There's not much talent involved. I can't draw or paint or do anything clever like that. I just stick bits of paper on other bits of paper! I'd say you can't go too wrong, but, well... such is evidenced! :)

Me too! I started with Welcome to Night Vale but just couldn't get into it, but Spotify recommended the Magnus Archives. Creepy in a good way, but I'm only 3 episodes in. It's going to take a very long time to work through them all!

Ah, I've never listened to Welcome to Night Vale. I did listen to Season 1 of Alice Isn't Dead, which is a podcast from the same people as Welcome to Night Vale and enjoyed it. I didn't go beyond Season 1. I binged Mangus Archives (I am a big M.R. James fan and I think I burned myself out. I'm at about #89 and I need to take a break. It gets complicated when they start to try to explain everything and I am getting the different secondary characters confused. But 10/10 would recommend!
