Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.
Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?
There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.
This Week's Question: Do you have any crafting resolutions for 2024?
If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.
I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

I had planned on sewing up an arm warmer every day until they're all done, but it was overcast today that I wouldn't have been able to see what I was doing. We had non-stop rain the whole day and my lawn, which was already awash in places, is now under 2 to 5 inches of water. I waded down the garden in my wellies to check the far end, which is even worse than the house end. It'll be a miracle if it dries out this summer to a point where it can be mowed. That's assuming the water doesn't get into the shed and wreck the mower.

So, the new sweater is on the works already? Which serial number does it have again? *g*

No clue, but I already hate the pattern, lol. I did 6 rows, but had to undo the last two because something went wrong somewhere and the yarn is dark enough that I can't see what I'm doing under artificial light. It's also a fiddly pattern, which doesn't help.

I plan on rotating between the following four projects, working on one each day:
1. Rebel Ripple
2. Central Park Hoodie
3. Nordic Stripes
4. Poinsettias for Mom/Younger Sis
I worked on Rebel Ripple yesterday for about 40 minutes, so off to a good start! I've already done a bit of the hoodie today, but then took a break to finish planning stuff.
I do intend to work on the commission a bit every day, once I have the yarn... that might be on Thursday, as the patron is coming to Stitch Club then.

I'm so sorry to hear about all the rain. That sounds horrendous.

Sometimes it's necessary to take a break from projects that take a lot of concentration, give your brain a rest.

Sweater progress has stalled because the actual pattern is proving a nightmare. I understand the chart, but following it is more than my brain wants to handle. 6 rows in, I had to undo 2 rows *sigh*

Hello everyone! I didn't get nearly as much crafting done in 2023 as I had intended/wanted to, so my ambitions for 2024 are a little more modest. I would like to finish a few longstanding WIPs and start mending various items of clothing already in my possession to extend their lifetime. I have a very nice jumper that has multiple holes, a frayed hem and tatty cuffs that I would like to do some light surgery on and several pairs of pyjama bottoms that would be perfectly fine if I replaced the elastic in the waistband, for starters, and most of my clothes are things I've had For Years that I've worn to rags, so I think mending alone would keep me plenty busy, haha.
In terms of actual knitting, my current project is a sock (singular). It is a replacement for a handknit sock of mine that went through the wash stuck to the inside of a pair of jeans a while ago. I was feeling very sad about this for Some Time, but then I remembered that I still have plenty of the original yarn and can just make a new one, so a little after midnight on new years, I cast it on and am now just about to turn the heel.
Here's a photo for anyone who fancies a look

Also, scarves and shawls - I love making them.

I finished setting up my 2024 pages in my bullet journal. They are inked and functional, but not decorated.
I'm losing access to the Chromebook in a day or two so I tried to speed run though things that are easier with a full keyboard, but I didn't get as far as I liked. Mostly, I worked on trying to do fills at fandomtrees and writing ahead on my tea reviews. I didn't finish any fandom tree fills (though LOTS of notes and prep), but I did get 17 tea reviews done, counting the one for today.
