Today's optional question:
Is there any craft you tried out thinking you'd enjoy it, only to find out you don't? Or the other way around, is there a craft you tried for some reason, thinking it'd be a one-time thing, but that turned out to be something enjoyable?

At least I did get Santa down the chimney, even if I had to slightly disfigure the fireplace to do so. Everything has its price, apparently.

Emergency Baby Blanket is on the last couple of stripes! Then to weave in a bajillions ends, and wash and block it.
Turns out I bought waaaaaay more yarn than needed, but I have other uses for it.

I can't think of any craft I've tried that I haven't enjoyed. Sewing doesn't count because I was made to do that at school a very long time ago and I hated it then, so never did it willingly. My problem is more that there are many crafts I enjoy but I don't have time to do them all.

I agree with you on sewing *shudders*

I collapse now (I wish! I have to clean my room for our holiday party tomorrow.) I am mostly pleased with this. It was my first time making a realistic flower or plant, and I definitely learned a lot (like, floral tape isn't sticky unless you stretch it. who knew?). I wish the petals and leaves didn't want to curl. They do have wire in them to help combat that, but the wire is a very fine gauge.
re: crafts tried - I thought I would like weaving more than I do. I don't MIND pin loom weaving, and it's fun to have woven fabric at the end, but it can be tough for me to work on it in long stretches. Even a small coaster takes me a week because I keep putting it down. I think I'd enjoy tablet weaving more, but I tried that backstrap-style and it didn't work for me. Need a loom!

Somehow that sounds very familiar. *g*
I'm glad your neighbour appreciated the arm warmers. It's always a delight to make things for people who can value them.

I'm making her a single arm warmer now because she lost half of her original pair when out walking the dogs a few months ago and I have enough of the yarn left to make a replacement.

Interesting fact about floral tape, I'll have to remember that.
