Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

No actual crafting, but I've picked out something to stitch, if I can get it done in time — a little cupcake. I picked the one that looked like it had chocolate frosting, and started getting the threads out, but the two colours for the frosting looked greyish, and who wants a grey cupcake? It's having lemon frosting instead, but I have less than two weeks to make a card and I'm not sure I can stitch fast enough!

I was crafty today and finished what might be the front page of my Christmas-themed quiet book - unless I change my mind. Here it is:



I'm very, very happy with the outcome. Now I have only one more page and the back cover to make. It should be doable until Christmas, even with the binding, but at the moment I don't have a really good idea for either design. Will have to browse YouTube, perhaps I'll get inspired.

Not really, but it uses two strands of thread, which I always get twisted, and I'll have to stitch by artificial light, which is so much harder to do. Daylight makes everything show up so much better. I've made a start, stitched the base of the cake, so I can hopefully start on the frosting soon. Maybe not tomorrow though, can't stitch and watch TV.

I must humbly admit that basically the trees were the only elements that I cut out by hand - Santa, the sledge, the reindeer, the little angels, even the number 24 (although not its plaque) were bought ready-made. I did stitch the snowflakes by hand, though. :)

Thank you, I really like how it turned out.I should use more ready-made elements, I think. They not only make my work a lot easier, they also serve as inspiration.

I still think they look great, the way they've been laid out and stitched. Ready made pieces are useful, but it's what you've done with them that makes them look special.

I'm off to a reasonable start with it, but even if I get it stitched fast enough, I still have to turn it into a card, soooo... Fingers crossed!

How is it December?

No crafting today, but I did help someone with their holiday_wishes wishlist. Which was sort of crafting, as I wrote a sample one for her for inspiration.

I was fairly unwell today and work began with a the hard drive failing on the work computer when I turned it on. That pretty much set the tone for the day.

I've since taken a long rest and have mostly improved.
