Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Today's Question: No question today.

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

Stupid needles, they get lost so easily and they are so hard to find again! It took me three days to find one of mine when I dropped it last week!

Glad you found the mistake in time and didn't have to undo much. You see, that's why I never picked up cross stitch (save when I had to, in primary school): too much counting.

Hurrah for more meeces!

Behold the tiny little items I've created from all the felt cut-outs left from bigger projects:

They are very small indeed, from 2 to 4 cms in diameter, and I intend to sell them for the equivalent of 10 to 25 Eurocents. I'm also planning to make more, should I produce more cut-outs of the right size. I'm fairly content with the way they've turned out.

BTW, Pinterest has changed things again; now the newly uploaded pins don't appear right afterwards. But at least the pictures have a reasonable size again. Why they can't fix one problem without causing another one is beyond me. They shouldn't have started fiddling with the site to begin with!

Indeed, it would have been a shame to waste all that material.

My needle was lying on the wall-to-wall carpet and I walked over it umpteenth times until one moment the light fell just in the right angle to spot it.

I'm sure the meeces won't mind to wait. They have the company of each other, after all.

Those are so cute, and I would not have guessed how tiny!

We have a robot vacuum now and it found a pin the other day. I hadn't used that type of pin for a while, so I'm not sure where it was hiding.

No crafting today, and probably not for a few days due to a family emergency, but I posted my monthly crafting post in my journal, here: https://althea-valara.dreamwidth.org/1152265.html

Nutshell: lots of work done! Also, plans made for future FOs!

My brain is mush, but I know I did the following today:

I repaired a painting. It's a multimedia piece that has a lot of flat glass marbles attached to it. Some came off while it was in storage. I will know in 3 days when the adhesive has cured if my repair was successful.

I finished the drop stitch shawl. While I like it in it's oversized form, the pattern is a little disappointing. It's a very narrow shawl, but very long in the back. Making it oversized emphasized this. I'm considering wearing it sideways as an oddly shaped scarf.

I set up my October calendar. With the color coding, it certainly looks like a craft project.

Sounds like good progress. I'm glad your needle was relatively easy to find.

Meeces!

They are very small indeed - quite the challenge for my sausage fingers! *g*

Thank you so much!

That calendar sounds like a craft project indeed. But it's always fun to make everyday's items pleasing for the eye.

Congratulations to your achievements! May the glass marbles stick this time!

Yes! It also helps me clock how many things are planned on a day.

Thanks! I have faith in them. They stayed on almost 10 years the first time and only 5 out of 30 something fell off. This is also supposed to be better glue. Fingers are still crossed though.

It wouldn't have helped in this case, but have you considered investing in a magnet on a stick?
(Or making one is generally cheaper)

Thanks. It is quite warm at least.

I wish I remembered what I used the first time. All I remember is hurrying for an art show deadline and being terrified about it holding up at a public show for 4 days, being handled by strangers, and if the standards it was going to hang on could handle the weight as it was so much bigger than the previous version. To the shock of everyone, it won an award.

Tomorrow, we test the regluing.

It's an important tool most households should have. I'm impressed! (I have no clue where mine is.)

Ahh.

Yup, absolutely terrifying.
