Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

I made the two gate cards for the boys' birthday albums. They aren't very elaborate, but have a nice pattern, and I think the boys will like them.

Another 35 spiders finished, only 30 to go!


Also looked through some cross stitch magazines to find something suitable for my neighbour's 9oth birthday next month. Right now I'm trying to decide between a rose design and one of tropical flowers and leaves. Might look a bit further though, since I still have plenty of time.

Mostly yard work today. I had my brother trim the box hedge while I picked up after, then this afternoon I wrestled the compost bin and dug out a lot from the bottom. I started with digging some into the north flower bed and replanting the climbing rose.

No actual crochet today, but we celebrated my birthday and my brother got me two books of crochet patterns. One is animal amiguris, with a couple of plants thrown in, the other is crochet pastries.

I think flowers of any kind would go down well, but I'd like something a bit special since it's her 90th and I've know her since I was six or seven...

There are other things I would have liked to get done but they'll have to wait for next year. I have more ideas than I have time.

I recently finished a hand towel for a fresh - using a crochet basket stitch. It was...challenging. Mostly because cotton yarn has no give to it and is rough.

I've started now with some green wool yarn that I hope to make into simple gloves...

Yes, that's one of the things I dislike about cotton yarn. It's not comfortable to work with. Well done for completing the towel!

Hopefully the gloves will be more enjoyable to make.

Since communal_creators kicked off on Friday, I've done an hour a day on my hoodie! That equals 2 rows, so progress is happening nicely!

Well okay, I only did 1 row today but (a) I might do the second row after dinner, (b) if not, I am *still* pleased because I also wrote fanfic yesterday and today! It's actually inspired by Spook Me but is not an official Spook Me fic since I didn't sign up for the challenge. I'm sitting on the fic for a day or two before I release it into the wild. It always makes me happy when I manage to write fic, because it's rare I have fic ideas, which saddens me because when I was a kid I wanted to be a novelist when I grew up.

Also, congrats with the writing! Maybe next year you'll sign up for spook_me. I just got my picture prompts today, so I'm mulling over the possibilities.

I've been crafting! I promise I have. I have another backlog of posts of craft, but a lot of time taken up with moving the house around (niece has moved in permanently) sewing, events, sister funeral and will stuff, and a new book which turned into a set of 4, 3 of which are finished.

I'm in the middle of painting up a nice wooden box to put a jewelled circlet I've made but needs adjusting. Hope everyone's well!

Sort of. The cat is still adjusting, I'm still adjusting. Lots to do and sharing my space in a small unit is tricky making room for all her things. She's quite delightful though!
