I spent twice as much time doing the fence painting job as I expected this morning, but at least the first coat is done.

I've been reading a book and should get up and start dinner soon.

That sounds like a lot of work! No wonder you wanted to sit and read after.

I finished Page #1 of the second songbook. There wasn't much to do, just a few decorative touches, but it's always great to finish something, even if it's only one page out of eight.

Then I made the individual pages for this album. Or rather two such albums, as I'd realized that two young kids of friends will be celebrating their 3rd birthday this month. So I had to come up with something, double quick. I've also selected the papers for the covers, so I'm good to go. All that's left to do are the hinges and the putting together the base of the albums... and then the decoration, of course. I might not be able to make such an album base in 30 minutes like the YouTuber who posted the tutorial, but I'm optimistic that the work would be done in, say, two weeks' time.

Goodness, another new project! What will go in the albums? Are they for photographs?

I don't know yet. It isn't so that I was planning a new project. Things just happen, and I'm desperately trying to catch up. *g*

It's frustrating having to stop when I've found my rhythm though. I'll be using the black elastic tomorrow, I've picked out some spiders with black, grey, or dark blue rings to work on.

The last couple days, I've been cleaning and stress knitting. The drop stitch shawl is at a place where I should be thinking about casting off. The yarn I've been using for it was a partial skein of mystery yarn with no label that made its way through at least 3 people before I got it. However, I am 99.9% sure I've identified it and my mother found, but did not buy, another skein of it.

The problem being it was three days before the store that carried it downsized their yarn section and moved it to electronics. If I can buy a second skein of the yarn, I want to keep going with the shawl until I've reached the limits of my needles. If I can't, I will cast off, as it is at the size the pattern recommends.

I hope you can get another skein and make your shawl bigger. Everyone needs something to help deal with stress. I usually read, but I'm finding even that difficult to concentrate on at present.

They will be autumn-themed books so I've selected some short poems and decorative papers for the embellishments. We'll see how it goes.

Thanks. This is very true. Ah. That is an issue I am all to familiar with. I have found white noise can help, but that is a "your milage may very' kind of a thing.
