Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

30 spiders are now attached to their rings with elastic. The task is every bit as tedious and fiddly as I was expecting, and the elastic snapped on one of them so I had to start over, but it's okay, I only have another 515 to do *sigh*

Yup! I got a little carried away, ended up with 545 spiders, all of which need to be hung on their elastic spider webs. Lot of work still ahead...

I decided to start making pillow cases for the fair - for lavender and cherry pit pillows. I cut out the fabric and stitched it together by hand, with the intention of make the final sawing with the help of my faithful (or at least I *thought* faithful) handmaid, Louise (aka the mini sewing machine). Only that Louise chose to go belligerent on me, and after the first pillow case she refused to make regular stitches, producing long, loose threads instead, and started snapping the thread ever twenty seconds or so. After the fourth attempt I gave up. It seems the pillow cases will be entirely hand-stitched, after all. At least they are small ones. *sigh*

Ah well, a minor setback. I always knew these electric sewing machines weren't my thing. I'm still mourning my Granny's ancient Singer machine, but it was simply too big for our flat, so we had to give it away.

Argh! Technology can be such a pain when it doesn't behave the way it should. Wish I knew something about sewing machines, but I have no idea how to fix whatever's going on. Good luck hand-sewing.

Today I was still a bit sore, unsurprisingly. I did work on the drop knit shawl and the full sized baby blanket though.
