Check-In Post June 26th 2023

Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Today's Question: No question today.

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

I've hung up the butterflies on the front porch:

Otherwise, I had to go do fasting lab tests for an upcoming doctor's appointment. This has made me feel wobbly all day.

I gave my own six-pointed-star-turned-into-an-angel design a try, since I never found the original one again.
So here is my version, made of memory and personal preferences:

Originally, the ornament is a very pale blue, not white, but the iPad mini had a bad day again. Usually, it turns white things blue, today it did the opposite. But you can still imagine what it looks like in reality, I hope. Clicking on the pic won't help - you'd only get a much smaller version, as I still haven't figured out how to make sensible-sized pictures on Pinterest since they revamped the whole site. *add curse words of your choice*

I call it a seraph, as seraphim are traditionally depicted with six wings, and the star has six points. It might be a heretic decision, but I don't really care. ;))

I'm working on understanding the chart pattern and I have a question! [personal profile] althea_valara mentioned that SKP is interchangeable with SSK, and looking into it, SSK sounds easier, so I'll likely do that. I was just reading something that says if the pattern doesn't specify that you should slip the stitch knitwise, you should do it purlwise; I don't think this pattern specifies, but it is generally a knit row - would it still be wiser to do it purlwise or should I do it knitwise? (This is the pattern, for reference.)

My word I'm busy. Also unwell with some kind of cold, so taking it a bit easy tonight. Not Covid, as I have a raging sore throat as well. I have managed 6 buttonholes on one sleeve (all of them) and one button, and the hem is entirely finished, though I will need to go back and hand finish the last inside gore (not happening before event.)
