Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

10 more spiders made, despite poor light and a storm raging outside all afternoon. So much rain! I couldn't see out the window.

Was the rain needed? We finally got rain today and we need much more. It's been way too dry.

I finsished a light scarf this evening, good for autumn or to keep around at work on cold days.

I'm from Norway. I had my last day of work on friday and I now have a long summer break ahead of me. I want to use that time to read lots and also make a small pillow crocheting and perhaps a hat (if I can manange to make my head understand the how of it all).

Yes, we needed some rain, but not THAT much. The road looked like a river, and the rain came down so hard it's flattened half the plants.

needed to make up for the time I spent watching Trooping the Colour yesterday, so I was at it all morning and part of the afternoon. It was repetitive and even tiring after a while, but I made good progress on the two identical songbooks.

- 14 out of 16 page bases are equipped with basic background elements, such as trees, grassy stripes, clouds and suns. Which, considering that I first had to make the templates myself and then cut out everything by hand, wasn't a small feat, if I say so myself. Of course, I still have to sew on everything, as the parts are only taped on, but still, I'm getting the overall image what the books will look like. The colours are a bit psychedelic here and there as, of course, one never gets the exact kind of felt one would need, but they'll have to do.

- I managed to find my teddy template and alter it so that it would look more like a proper bear. So, bears are cut out as well. Fleas and mosquitoes left to do, plus a small house for each book, as well as many other details. But the thing is taking shape.

I'm an experienced crocheter but a novice knitter. I'm knitting a scarf for my partner out of Cascade 220 Superwash in Charcoal. Teaching myself how to do a seeded rib stitch and I really like how it's working up. I think it will suit his personal style really well.

The spiders were resisting a bit today, my needle came unthreaded several times and one base slipped so I had to unpick it, but I managed the ten I had planned so I'm happy.

Congratulations for trying something new, glad to hear the stitch you've chosen is working well. The best way to learn anything is by doing. I'm sure your partner will be delighted with his new scarf.

I have to tackle the UFO box - I'm seeing my auntie this weekend and I promised to make a version of her birthday shawl for one of her old lady friends, and I have a gift project for an event soon. I'm excited about my amigurumi but these projects have deadlines! 😱

It's unfortunate that deadlines for gifts have to take precedence, but I hope you'll enjoy making them even if it means waiting to start your Vash amigurumi. You'll get there.

Craphole Island, aka the UK (ever since Shannon used that expression to refer to the island on Lost, it's been my UK nickname).

I finished making a felt rainbow this weekend (my cousin and her husband sent round the birthday wishlist for their soon to be four year old, she asked for a toy rainbow, and that was something I could do).
