Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Today's Question: No question today.

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

The little things that make our lives miserable. :(

I made good progress today. Better than expected, actually. I've put in a lot of permanent stitches (all the blue rows, as it's easier to finish one colour at a time) and even found a way to camouflage the rather bad crease I had accidentally ironed into the outer cover. It is still visible, if one looks very closely, but with the felt flowers over it it isn't so bad.

It's been a while but I did about two more rows on the infinity scarf today and joined in the second of five skeins!

It took me ages to rip my CD library on an old computer, but I'm so glad I have my full library now. Such a pain to do, though.

Hooray, well done!

You know the mantra: every little step helps. :)

Not that I'd actually understand what you mean, but it is shameless anyway. (I don't have music on my PC. I've never downloaded anything else but fanfic and a few photos in the 20+ years since I went online for the first time.)

And that on laundry day when I also had to cook a rather... work-heavy lunch!

It is all a big conspiracy then. Just like the fashion industry that only aims at half-starved rats, so that their cronies who sell the diets that never work can make more money. Or the gyms where people waste their time in the hope that they'd lose weight permanently. Neither of which really works. I know. I tried. Never again.

Still alive here (some days only just!) Too much to update on in detail but still doing a little bit of cross stitch on a printed kit that doesn't take too much brainpower.

augh, what a hassle!!!

oh, that's awesome!

That sounds like great progress!

I like no-brainpower projects. :)

Did a little more turkey stitch today, and got two kits from Subversive Cross Stitch - a notebook with a cover you can cross stitch and a necklace!

Indeed!

A relaxing project is such a good thing to have going!

Love the Subversive Cross Stitch kits!

Yep, just follow the pretty painted squares! I acn zone out and think about nothing whilst stitching which is great for me.

Me too. My enormous counted cross stitch is way too much right now, especially when sometimes it's just one stitch of that colour, or sections of pattern with similar symbols next to each other. Having to chop and change threads all the time is exhausting.

It's become my go to thing because my brain is too tired for writing. Stitching and listening to a podcast or an audio book has been my nightly hour off for a while now. Not sure how I keep up with writing except for dashing it all together right on every deadline. Not finding much inspiration lately. Mindless things are definitely more attractive right now. Just staring at the walls would be okay too!
