Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

I probably should have been outside gardening my I didn't feel like it. Instead, I cut the yarn for approximately 40 sets of spider legs. Yesterday I miscalculated what I need for each pair of legs. It's actually about 28 inches of yarn for each pair, folded double. That makes a twisted cord about 4.5 inches long.

Gosh, you're gonna see spider legs on the back of your eyelids for days to come!

Mostly chores today. I didn't garden except to spray the roses down with the garden hose well (knocks off the sawfly mostly).

I want to attempt the tapestry doily method again, but with a pattern that has a chart. I spent a while coloring on copies of charts this afternoon. It helped me pick which to do and what stitches will be blue vs cream. I will think on it a couple days and continue to make some dishcloths.

I will when I get around to making them! I only made one set today, the rest are still just lengths of yarn.

Sawflies are annoying, hope they've been discouraged by the hose.

I tested a piece of scrap yarn first, realised I needed two strands to make the legs a good thickness - it was hard to tell looking at existing spiders - and that the length of yarn I was going to use would only make one short leg. Making 8 legs for each spider would be ridiculously fiddly. I like to make 4 double legs, they're easier to attach.

No actual crafting done today, but I happened to stumble over a sale in one of the craft shops and acquired lots and lots of supplies. *is pleased*

8 separate wouldn't work out well, no. They'd probably fall off easier.

There is nothing better than a sale at a craft store! Lots of goodies at bargain prices =D

With the double legs, I just stitch them in place on the under-spider, then stitch the base over the top, so they're spaced out properly. I don't know how single legs could be dealt with.

I really had to hold back, or I'd have ended up with ten times as much stuff, most of it *not* on sale. It's just so damn tempting!
