Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Today's Question: No question today.

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

Originally, I had planned to sew on the bells to the hats of my Nisser. Instead, I dug out the fabric for the textile book and made the heroic attempt to cut out the pieces for the cover. It took me more than an hour and included lots of crawling around on the floor on all fours (no other surface in the flat was large enough) and getting a very sharp pin into one finger. Which required disinfection and then some band-aid that would keep the bright yellow disinfectant from getting onto the pink, white and purple fabric. Fun, fun, fun! (NOT!)

But the deed is done now, the pieces are pinned together, and I think I've figured out a design that actually might work. Whether it truly does will show when I start on the sewing. I wish I could do it with Louise the Younger (= mini sewing machine), but no chance to produce a straight line; these electronic machines are simply too fast for me. So it will be hand sewing, which means the sewing lines will be slightly crooked, but (hopefully) less so than they would be if I let Louise loose on the fabric.

I've been trying to find a quiet hour to do some writing all week; it hasn't happened so far. Good for you to do your writing in advance; and good luck with your appointment!

I'll have to do a lot of temporary stitching first, then iron the whole thing, then do the permanent stitching, and take out the temporary stitches at the end of the process. It is very fiddly, but working with cotton fabric is much more complicated than working with felt.

The "injury" wasn't really bad, I just didn't want to get the fabric soiled, either with blood or with the disinfectant.

Cast on the infinity scarf today! I can take my time with this one - the friend it's for isn't visiting until November.

Well done on your writing and reading! It was a rainy day here, too; lovely weather for words.

We hung up the last wall art yesterday! It's looking very nice :D Still sorting through some stuff and trying to get storage in order but if the last place was any indication, that will be an ongoing project, lol.

Oh, it wasn't serious. I just had to be careful not to soil the fabric.

Storage logistics are always a pain. :(
