We never used to get them, but these are woodpigeons, a native species, and they've been spreading rapidly the last ten or fifteen years, ousting the pretty collared doves. Much to my delight though, the doves are making a comeback and I have a pair who are adorably cute. The pigeons, however are a menace. Pigeon pie?
