Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

I have successfully sewn up the rainbow arm warmers I finished knitting on Saturday. They're so pretty I'm tempted to use the rest of the yarn to make another, shorter pair. I don't think there's enough to do another 100 row pair, but maybe 70 rows...


Then I dug out the other two pairs waiting to be sewn up, and pinned one pair ready for sewing up tomorrow (I hope). While I was rummaging, I found the mini meece that haven't been finished yet, so I sewed brooch backs on four of them, leaving another 9 to do. They all also still need their tails and faces, but I'm making progress again.


Also uploaded the photos of my wildly mis-matched arm warmers — the ones not sewn up yet — to my computer. Let's see if I can add the pictures here...

As planned, I took a crafting break. There were enough other things to do anyway. Tomorrow I'll make the blueprint for the inner lining and perhaps cut the fabric for it, but still no sewing. The fingers need a bit more rest.

I had time today, and the sun was shining outside, so I took advantage of the daylight.

The colours are very pretty, but the way they've knitted up, the pairs simply don't match.

The second pair are almost tartan (well tartan on lsd in any case!) Is it meant to knit up that way? Amazing wool that can knit itself into a predetermined pattern would be so cool. They're so colourful and lovely.

Finished the surcote outer and pinned the last gore of the lining. Lost a lot of time chatting online to a girl interested in medieval cosmetics.

They do have a sort of tartan look, although I suspect a different number of stitches would yield a totally different result. What gets me is that neither pair matches, and it shows. It might be less noticeable once they're sewn up and I'm wearing them, but it makes me wonder how anyone is supposed to make anything with the yarn and have it look more or less consistent.
